Team Bondi Seeking More Talent for L.A. Noire Production

50°
280w ago - Every time we see the title "L.A. Noire" in the news, we always tense up in anticipation of bad news. After all, this is a project that seems to have struggled through a lengthy development process, and there was even talk of a cancellation at some point.

But as Joystiq pointed out, the latest update should be considered encouraging. Team Bondi (also responsible for The Getaway) is [Register or Login to view links] for plenty of talented individuals to join the team, perhaps in an attempt to push through the final stages.

They're looking for everything from animators to artists to coders to designers, so if you think you've got the skills, perhaps you'd like to apply. If not, and you're merely looking for good news concerning L.A. Noire, then you should be somewhat satisfied. Although we'd like to assume that development has reached a critical stage, we still have no official update on the team's progress.

Our last update said the game would be about a year away, and that was last fall; September, to be exact. Therefore, E3 may be the time when Rockstar announces a concrete release date for this long-awaited crime thriller, and if that happens, it'll be big news indeed.

Anyway, we'll let you know if there's any movement on the L.A. Noire front; at this point,...

Team ICO Set to Unveil New PlayStation 3 Title at E3 2009

100°
286w ago - It looks like we're finally going to be able to get a glimpse at Team ICO's ultra-secret game!

Sony's sure going to put up a grand show during this year's E3. Their PSP line-up is pretty huge as it is. And for the PS3, you can bet your last rat's ass that God of War 3 and Heavy Rain will be there. But what else is there?

Somehow, Sony's managed to keep Team ICO's secret game under the radar for months now. But in E3, it looks like the curtains will finally be pulled up.

The new game following the spirit of Ico and Shadow of the Colossus is now confirmed to appear in E3 in the form of a trailer and some gameplay footage.

Heck, we might actually hear about the new game even sooner, during GDC (which starts two weeks from now!). Though the new game isn't confirmed to be revealed during the event, Ico and Colossus creator Fumito Ueda is confirmed to have a keynote speech duing GDC '09.

Is Team Ninja Crafting a New Blade for Microsoft to Use on Sony?

250°
287w ago - For those of you that don't know, in many interviews former Head of Team Ninja Tomonobu Itagaki has mentioned that a deal between Tecmo and Microsoft has been struck.

The deal involved releasing 5 exclusive titles throughout the life span of the 360. All 5 titles were to be developed by Team Ninja.

The titles mentioned were DOA 4, DOA Extreme 2, DOA Code Chronos, Project Progressive, And a secret title (which was later revealed to be Ninja Gaiden 2). We know that 3 out of the 5 titles have already been released; we also know that all 3 were released annually from 2006; in addition, we know for a fact that in a second interview with Tomonobu Itagaki, he mentioned that all the remaining titles that are set to be released exclusively for the 360 are all in development.

Not only that, but he actually mentioned that they have been in development for quite some time. If that is any indication, not only are there 2 remaining titles to be released exclusively for the 360, but we will probably be seeing them very very soon!

And if anyone has doubts regarding the level of polish of the 2 remaining titles, know this, Tomonobu itagaki left Tecmo half way through 2008. By that time, Ninja Gaiden 2 was done, and the remaining titles had already been in development for 3 years.

Team Twiizers Clears Things Up on the New 3.4 Wii Update

50°
301w ago - Nintendo released a recent update that once again tries to secure some existing bugs on the console, breaks some things, deletes others. This time they've also gone around and modified the TOS. As usual, mass panic ensues.

The people who are panicking can be divided roughly into two groups (non exclusive):

- The pirates
- The clueless

This should go without saying, but we don't want to have anything to do with the former group. Nintendo is obviously going to fight piracy (and that's going to hurt homebrew). We'll have to deal with the homebrew part, but don't expect that to help piracy in any way. It may, or it may not. And if it doesn't, pirates will have to deal with fighting nintendo themselves.

The usual messages about WADs, "backups", and all that crap are going straight to /dev/null, and we're seeing quite a few bans due to piracy on #wiidev recently. Don't ask us about it, don't talk to us about it.

The clueless are panicking because, well, that's the thing to do (OMG, new update! What will we do!). Read the Wiibrew page about the update. To clarify some things: the Twilight...
