Incoming Bad Company update brings Maps, Bug Fixes, Trophies

100°
324w ago - Remember BattleField: Bad Company? Of course you do. Some of you are probably still playing it. If you aren't, then you soon might be because the game is due to get a shot in the arm before too long.

After running a contest through which players could decide on which map pack DICE should start working on first, a post has gone up on the official blog to let us know that there will be other content coming when the map pack drops.

There's no indication on when that'll be, or if it'll cost us anything, but the accompanying patch will be free, at least. With this patch DICE are looking to fix several bugs, such as server lag and VOIP issues. There will also be various gameplay tweaks.

Not only that, but three weapons, previously only obtainable through pre-ordering, playing the demo or signing up to the newsletter, will be made available to everyone for free. Check out the full list of fixes and tweaks at the official blog.

Finally (saving the best til last) the patch will add trophy support to the game. PS3 gamers are being spoilt by all these free, content patches. Not that we're complaining. We hope to find out when this'll hit soon.

The PSP 3000: Is it Worth Buying now?

200°
324w ago - When the PSP first launched in North America on March 24, 2005, it revolutionized portable media forever with its ability to play videos, music and display pictures all while being a powerful gaming machine.

Since then, it gained even more functionality with a built-in Web browser, Skype functionality and connectivity with the Playstation 3. When the Playstation Portable (PSP) 2000 or 'Lite' model was released, it had all the quirks of the original model but answered consumer demands with the additional Video-Out socket which allows users to output video to any progressive television.

At the Leipzig Games Convention, Sony officially announced the newest chapter in the life of the PSP by revealing the PSP 3000 (or PSP "Brite", as dubbed in the blogosphere). The PSP Brite is just as thick, weighs the same and even has the same battery life as its predecessor, the PSP Lite. This newer model, however, consists of many ergonomic and aesthetic changes while offering a slew of new functionality features.

The greatest and most notable change in the PSP Brite is the upgraded screen. Sony recognized that the glare made it nearly impossible to view the screen in the outdoors or well lit environments, so they have integrated their new anti-reflective technology. The addition of this new technology should...

324w ago - Looks like the French games company is targeting proven Sony stars. Their high-profile acquisition of former Worldwide Studios giant Phil Harrison took the industry by surprise. Many of us were shocked to see such a successful reign at Sony Computer Entertainment move to a company with a track record like Atari.

Today, it's been revealed that the gorgeous Paulina Bozek, creative director of Sony's popular SingStar franchise, is also finding a new home at Atari. She will head a new studio, based in Hammersmith, London, that will focus on developing other mass-market games for "online-enabled devices," including PCs and consoles.

"I am very excited to be joining Atari at this pivotal time for both the company and the industry," said Bozek.

Phil Harrison, Bozek's former boss at Sony, added: "This is a significant step in expanding Atari's online game development capability.

Paulina is one of the industry's most respected creative leaders with an outstanding track-record of commercial and creative success and I'm delighted that she will bring her unique vision, consumer insight and proven ability for creating amazing entertainment experiences to Atari."
