God of War: Ghost of Sparta Unveiled for PSP and PSPgo!

350°
219w ago - Today SCEA's PR Manager Eric Levine has unveiled God of War: Ghost of Sparta for Sony's PSP and PSPgo handheld consoles!

To quote: I'm pleased to share some exciting news involving our favorite Spartan warrior. Fresh off his incredible run in God of War III, Kratos will be coming back to PSP and PSPgo in God of War: Ghost of Sparta!

The last time we saw Kratos on the portable platform was in God of War: Chains of Olympus, a game that coupled stunning visuals with stellar gameplay and is still the highest rated PSP title of all-time on Metacritic. So what can you expect this time?

First of all, it's developed by Ready At Dawn Studios, in close collaboration with SCEA's Santa Monica Studio, so we have the same talented team that brought you Chains of Olympus – they know the franchise and know what it takes to create an amazing game.

I can also tell you from first-hand experience that we are pushing the limits of what PSP can do with state-of-the-art visual technologies, higher resolution environments, and greater depths of scale. We're also providing over 25% more gameplay, an improved weapon system, and new magical powers – all enjoyed anytime, anywhere.

Below are a few screens to give you a taste of the action!

As for the storyline,...

Videos: Record of Agarest War for PS3 Arrives on PSN This Week

200°
219w ago - Recently we reported that Record of Agarest War for PlayStation 3 requires nearly 10GB of PS3 HDD space to install, and today the title's Localization Editor Ben Bateman has shared some videos of the upcoming title in action.

To quote: I have come here today to talk to you about that very game, which is coming to the PlayStation Store this Thursday, April 29.

You may have had a chance to peruse some of our marketing materials regarding Agarest. You haven't? Oh my. Well, in polite company, I would say that they play up the relationship aspect of the game.

To elaborate somewhat, Agarest gives you, the PS3 player, the reasonably unique experience of playing through five generations of fathers and sons.

Your in-game decisions - tactical, moral, and romantic - will determine the abilities and strengths of your offspring, which characters will join your party, and ultimately, the very fate of your world!

But perhaps a dating sim (and genetic simulator) doesn't tickle your fancy. As a strategy role-playing game, Agarest is, in many ways, defined by its battle system. I could use all sorts of large, important words-words like "nuance", or "multifaceted",...

Record of Agarest War Hits PSN, Requires 10GB PS3 HDD Space

220w ago - Today Examiner.com (linked above) reports that Record of Agarest War is hitting PSN this Thursday, however, they note it will require nearly 10GB of PS3 HDD space to install and close to 18GB of hard disk drive space to begin the download.

To quote: "PS3 owners will have the ability to purchase the game via PSN and download it right to their PS3 for safe storage. If you plan to buy it from the PSN Store this week, be prepared for a lengthy download and huge file size.

Record of Agarest War for the PS3 totals at 9228MB, but you'll need close to 18GB of space to begin the download. This download will take gamers a long time to complete - with it ranging based on your own connection speed.

At this moment, the estimated time for the download is a few hours on our connection."

Video: Gears Of War 3: Ashes to Ashes Trailer & Box Art Arrive

400°
222w ago - Epic's Cliff Bleszinski debuted the first cinematic trailer for Gears of War 3: Ashes to Ashes for the XBox 360 on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon.

The title is tentatively slated to arrive on consoles around April 8, 2011.

To quote: "Gears 3 is packing all sorts of new hotness, including those recently leaked tentacle-having, mutating Lambent Locusts, (you might remember the ending of Gears 2, and a certain Brumak...).

In the new game there's an even greater threat called The Lambent, and it's these kind of crazy tenticle monsters that can mutate while you're fighting them.

Double barrelled shotguns, a beard-wearing (apparently) Dom Santiago, female COG soldiers... it's looking a treat. Such a dreary, ash-filled world Sera has become. We should get a even better look at the game during E3 in June."

PowerMad Review: God of War III for the PlayStation 3

550°
222w ago - First Impression: After three years of waiting, I was excited to finally bring home the long awaited God of War 3. I took the disc out of the case, put it into my PlayStation 3 gaming console, and was very impressed with the opening video.

After watching the events leading up to God of War 3 unfold in a stylistic silhouette art type, I was immediately drawn into the game play. I was impressed with the art style, graphics, and game play. I began thinking what to rate the game right away; based on the opening.

After a few moments of awe, I placed the game at a 9.9 and almost rated it 10 (If it wasn't for a really bad audio clip). However that 9.9 has since changed. After the first few minutes of playing the game, and a few problems, my high 9.9 quickly came down.

The battle with the water horse at the beginning of the game fed my long awaited God of War fix. Not only was I fighting on the back of mother earth, but I was fighting gods on the back of mother earth, while the terrain constantly changed. One time I actually had to fight the water horse upside down, which is pretty difficult if you don't know what you're doing.

A little further down the line, you actually get to see Aries again in his ice encased...
