279w ago - The new head of Sony Computer Entertainment Shuhei Yoshida said, in an interview with the Official PlayStation Magazine, that Team Ico has something "really, really good on the way."
The full quote: "They are working on a title. I started the ICO project. Ueda-san joined my team in Japan as a cinematic animator, but he created a short movie and presented it to me and said, "I want to make this game."
I said, "Yes, let's do it, but you have never made a game. We have to have experienced people do it," so it took a while, recruiting one person at a time. And because Fumito Ueda doesn't compromise, we had to move the development from PSone to PlayStation 2. Then I couldn't complete the game because I moved to the United States.
It took four years and the second game took four years too. So I started calling them the 'Olympic Team.' They haven't released a PS3 title yet - of course not - they'll take four years! But they have something really, really good on the way."
Of course Yoshida would say something like that-he kind of has to. But given the track record of Team Ico-I think we can take his word on that.

We've seen P4's at up to 8.18GHz, and just a couple months ago someone jacked a Core 2 Extreme QX9775 on a Skulltrail board to 6GHz. Still, it's always fun to watch people pour liquid nitrogen over a mobo - video below.
289w ago - With the original Far Cry developers departed and Far Cry 2's development in new hands, you'd have been forgiven for expecting the sequel to be nothing more than a prettier version of its predecessor - playable and enjoyable but hardly special.
Imagine our shock then, when Far Cry 2 was revealed to not only be one of the most graphically impressive games we've seen on PC, but also a title attempting to push current boundaries of AI, characters and player freedom.
To find out what the development team aimed to achieve with the epic quest, we dropped Ubisoft a line and spoke to the chaps working on bringing Africa to your British bedsit.
A number of previous games have boasted of having independent AI, but usually they follow predictable routines regardless of whether they're scripted or not. What's different in Far Cry 2?
Dominic Guay, Technology Director: You are right to point out that having an autonomous AI does not make it automatically unpredictable.
It all depends on the array of possible actions and behaviours you provide the autonomous AI to work with. It's a bit scary to give an AI a lot of actions because it means it will not be as predictable for us developers and that makes our job harder.
I saw in some games "autonomous AIs" that would basically...
293w ago - While it was only hearsay and bordering on a rumor earlier today, it is now confirmed that the major update for Team Fortress 2 will not arrive until "early next week."
Valve's Robin Walker kindly responded to my inquiry of whether or not the "rumor" of a delay was true, and that the update would not hit until next week.
Yes, it should be out early next week. -Robin.
Undoubtedly busy, I'd like to thank Mr. Walker for confirming this for us. Expect to see Goldrush and entire teams consisting of Medics starting early next week. The exact day and time are not yet known.
294w ago - Team Fortress 2, which was included in the Orange Box, was released last year. It already had its fair share of problems on the day of release, however it seems that the game still has a lot of online issues. Yesterday an angry gamer apparently couldn't take it anymore and started a petition regarding the problems.
The issues that are listed in the petition (which are quite a lot) are of the PS3 version. Which, of course, comes as no surprise, seeing as how EA constantly keeps complaining about working with the next-generation console of Sony.
The petition is linked above, and I thought it should also be shared here. We also need to support our fellow gamers that are in need. EA has ruined the online experience.. +300 signatures in last 24 hours, the petition is starting pretty well. Link to petition's user blog is here.
