COD 6: Hostage Multiplayer Game on Sony PS3 and XBox 360?

100°
298w ago - We have read many ideas for Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2, some about the weapons and others about the game type's in multiplayer. One of the best ideas we would like to see is a hostage online game.

You could save your hostages from the other team before they get killed or something along those lines. Maybe even have the hostages have the option to try and escape from their captors.

Another great idea in COD 6: is to have the lobby for the Sony PS3 and Xbox 360 updated, especially on the PS3. When you go to find match it would be good to have it setup like this:

Find Match - Countries - Core/Hardcore - Game Modes

Playlists for different countries or regions should be added because people would rather be playing against people from their own country and have a good connection, other than being thrown into a random match with people from another country and have a bad connection.

Would you like a hostage game type in multiplayer and a choice of countries when finding a match? Comment below!

EGM Rumors: GTA Massively Multiplayer Game; Bioshock for PS3!

100°
333w ago - When a new issue of EGM drops, most of the time we tend to scroll right to the rumors and look for the newest bit of gossip. This issue in particular has some very interesting tid-bits.

First, EGM is reporting what we've been speculating for a very long time now: Bioshock is heading to the PlayStation 3 in September, and will come complete with all of the game's downloadable content, as well as improved visuals. This is a topic we've been talking about since before the game launched on the Xbox 360 last year.

We've long believed the game to exist somewhere within Irational Games (now 2K Austin), seeing as how development of Bioshock began for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, as indicated by an early press release for the game. Now we have to wait and hope that EGM, or their sources are right about this.

Another notable rumor is that the Metal Gear Solid 4 PS3 bundle is going to be extremely limited, so if you don't secure yourself a pre-order sometime soon, you may very well be out of luck. So if you've yet to grab yourself a PlayStation 3, why not pre-order the year's best damn bundle before they're all gone?

And please don't pre-order these with the intention of re-selling them on eBay or something, if the bundles end up becoming a rarity and being worth something, it won't...

GTA IV Multiplayer patch for PS3 due out today!

50°
334w ago - Rockstar and Sony plans to patch the PS3 version of Grand Theft Auto IV today to improve the multiplayer experience.

Speaking to Eurogamer, a Sony source explained that the patch would help by "reducing the loads on the servers at GameSpy and hopefully the completely random hangs that some users have seen".

PS3 owners who bought GTA IV last week have had to endure problems connecting to the multiplayer service almost from day one.

What's more, some reported random crashes, for which Rockstar suggested that erasing game data and reinstalling as a possible solution.

This week, UK chart monitor Chart-Track reported that 926,000 copies of GTA IV were sold during its first week on sale here - with 413,000 of going to PS3 owners.

Grand Theft Auto IV Multiplayer Back Online!

100°
335w ago - If you didn't know, Grand Theft Auto IV on the PlayStation 3 has been having some online issues. We are happy to say the game is back online and can now be played in multiplayer matches.

What are you waiting for, get off onAXIS and go play on of the fourteen multiplayer modes. Yes, fourteen.

Although I got to say, now that I'm finally online I am a bit disappointed with the character creation. There is so little choice (roughly 4 choice to select for each piece of body wear and face).

I'm not that far in, but do you unlock more for your online character as you progress through the game?

No Split-Screen Multiplayer for GTA4

400°
336w ago - There's been a lot of inquiries made lately about Grand Theft Auto 4, PlayStation 3's multiplayer mode, and what types of games it will support. Among the hot topics are whether or not split-screen action will be available.

The answer? Don't bet on it.

Stephen Totilo of the MTV Multiplayer blog has posted recently that the feature just isn't there. He says he learned of this from Rockstar Games itself as he played a Devkit version of the game via a local network in the developer's New York City office.

The blogger points out that limitations in hardware is a probable reason for the feature being omitted. He reasons that the sheer size of Liberty City being rendered split-screen may be a bit too much even with the hardware of the Xbox 360 and the PS3. He also points out that the feature seems less essential in an age when most people who'll be playing GTA 4 can easily have multiplayer action online.

Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games will launch GTA 4 come April 29th. The game has already gone gold and is touted as this year's biggest software entertainment release.
