265w ago - Yesterday we reported news of Microsoft starting a new wave of XBox Live bans on modded XBox 360 consoles.
Today, Microsoft's Major "Larry Hyrb" Nelson has confirmed it stating the following via his blog linked above:
Xbox 360 Console banning: I've gotten a few messages and seen some forum threads pop up on console bannings so I thought I'd post and let folks know what's up.
In our our continued effort to keep gameplay safe and secure for our community of more than 14 million members, Microsoft has taken action against a small percentage of Xbox 360 consoles that have been illegally modified in order to play pirated games.
The health of the video game business depends on customers paying for the genuine products and services they receive, both from manufacturers and the local companies that support them.
We will continue to employ and bolster anti-piracy security measures to counter piracy in the gaming...
266w ago - Earlier today, in a live chat with Eurogamer, Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of PR and Marketing, confirmed that updates are coming for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions of Fallout 3.
To quote: Pete Hines, Bethesda's VP of PR and Marketing, confirmed that updates are coming for the PC and PlayStation 3 versions of Fallout 3.
Many of the questions pertained to downloadable content, which Hines didn't answer with definitively. But gamers playing the post-apocalyptic RPG on platforms other than Xbox 360 will be happy to note the other news.
Hines replied to a question about left-handed controls and patches with an extra tidbit of news, saying, "...As far as fixes, there's a PC update coming out later today that will address a few PC-specific things that have come up. Can't give you any details yet beyond that as far as what else might be in the works for any of the three platforms."
In regard to PS3 trophy support, Hines said, "It's going to happen, just not sure when. We'll let folks know when we have something more definitive."

Today EA Apoc has confirmed this initial statement was inaccurate and a mistake, to quote:
If you didn't notice, your C&C Community Manager, me, had a bit of a run-in with the video game blogging media today in reference to a direct quote I made on our forums here a few days ago in regards to how we handle bans and suspensions on the forums and in-game.
You all know how we are greatly trying to protect and serve you from those who wish to disrupt our C&C community by breaking ToS on our forums or in-game, and I know everyone appreciates when we take action on those that are the worst.
That said, the previous statement I made recently (that's being quoted on the blogs) was inaccurate and a mistake on my part. I had a misunderstanding with regards to our new upcoming forums and website and never meant to infer that if we ban or suspend you on the forums, you would be banned in-game as well. This is not correct, my mistake, my bad.
If we suspend or ban you from the forums, that does not affect your...
267w ago - In addition to today's earlier LittleBigPlanet DLC announcement, Associate Producer Eric Fong has confirmed that it will continue to add to the LittleBigPlanet experience by bringing out new levels, costumes, materials and a variety of other content.
GamePro: Will Media Molecule continue to release new levels?
Eric Fong: Yes, Media Molecule is continuing to add to the player experience with new levels, costumes, materials, and a host of other content.
How will you ensure that players find the best user-created levels?
There is a slew of metrics we monitor to help point players in the right direction, including how many people have "Hearted" a level and/or creator, how often a level is played, user comments, "tagging" etc. The cream will literally rise to the top as popular levels take up more real-estate in the game.
