145w ago - As expected, history repeats itself and today the inevitable happened with two new PS3 games (Dragon Age II and MLB 11 The Show) arriving that require version 3.56 PS3 Firmware, however, PlayStation 3 hackers have already began work on fixes using the familiar SFO/EBOOT modification methods.
To quote: "The first game, Dragon Age II, isn't due to hit retail shelves until March 8th, but hackers have managed to get their hands on an early leaked copy. After some experimentation, some people have reported success in getting the game to run on 3.55 with a simple modification to the version string in the PARAM.SFO along with a repackaged EBOOT.BIN.
Baseball fans will be disappointed to hear that the second game to require 3.56 is MLB 11 The Show. Like Dragon Age II, The Show isn't supposed to hit stores until March 8th. However, some users are reporting that certain stores have broken that street date and sold copies early. Little examination has taken place yet on MLB 11, so it is still unknown...
163w ago - Ubisoft Montreal Community Developer Gabe Graziani has detailed some Assassins Creed Brotherhood PS3 fixes alongside an exotic gameplay Q&A session today, as follows:
Last week, we wrapped up the Assassin's Creed Brotherhood closed beta. For the duration of the beta we received tons of great feedback from the community.
Today, we're happy to share with you a list of some of the improvements you'll see in the final version of Assassin's Creed Brotherhood when it ships in November.
This list is by no means complete, but it should give you a good idea of what to expect from the multiplayer mode in the full game. Once again, we'd like to give a big "Thank You" to all who participated in the beta and helped make it a success!
165w ago - A few weeks back the MAG 2.0 PS3 Patch was released and some users reported freezing issues as a result of the update, but today Chris Roper has announced that the 2.01 patch update should remedy them.
To quote: "The release of MAG 2.0 represented the culmination of months of work on our end and marked what was easily the biggest collection of overall improvements to the game since its debut in January.
Not everything was perfect, however, as some users have reported freezing issues since MAG 2.0′s release, but today's 2.01 patch should clear most everything up.
It's a short, but sweet, update that aims to fix a handful of important stability issues, and also adds in a couple voiceover messages. Enjoy!
Patch v2.01 - Available October 13, 2010 | 34MB (TPPS)
• Voiceover plays when vehicles are extracted in Acquisition
• Voiceover calls out sensor abilities when mortar battery is down
• Various stability improvements"
