Video: The Wolf Among Us Comes to PlayStation Vita This Fall

50°
47w ago - Telltale Games Community Lead Laura Perusco announced today that The Wolf Among Us is coming to PlayStation Vita this Fall complete with a video trailer below.

To quote: Hey everyone! We're super happy to announce that The Wolf Among Us, the latest episodic series from Telltale Games, is coming to PS Vita for download later this fall!

What's this "Wolf" stuff about? Based on the award-winning [Register or Login to view links] comic book series, The Wolf Among Us is an often violent, mature and hard-boiled thriller where the characters and creatures of myth, lore and legend are real and exist in our world.

These aren't quite the characters you might remember from childhood stories though. Playing as Bigby Wolf - the big bad wolf in human form - you'll discover that the brutal, bloody murder of a Fable is just a taste of things to come.

If you've already played The Walking Dead on PlayStation 3 or PS Vita, you'll be familiar with the gameplay in The Wolf Among Us. It's all about choice and consequence, but we've definitely upped the ante (especially in the action sequences)!

In case you missed it the first time around, be sure to check out the recent PlayStation Blogcast with Episode 1 co-director Nick Herman for more details on the...

New Sony PS3, PS Vita and PSN Releases for October 22nd, 2013

50°
48w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with details on the new PS3, PS Vita and PSN releases for the upcoming week below today!

To quote: Don your cape and cowl - the Batman Arkham series is readying its return, along with Deus Ex: Human Revolution. It's a tremendous week of superheroes and cybernetics in this week's Drop.

Lauded for its gritty visuals and stellar play, the Arkham games have garnered a huge following in the world of gaming. That tradition is sure to continue with Batman: Arkham Origins, a prequel to Rocksteady's revolutionary first two games in the series.

The latest Batman features the intense, single-player experience you'd expect from an Arkham game, but will also include a robust online suite for gamers to compete within.

But Batman isn't the only dark hero making a comeback this week. Adam Jensen, with all his powerful augmentations, slinks back to PS3 in Deus Ex: Human Revolution - Director's Cut. An enhanced version of the already well-loved original, the Director's Cut includes The Missing Link DLC, as well as other improvements.

If those don't strike your fancy and you'd rather catch up on some fan favorites, check out the two different 2K compilations - Essentials and Power Pack - which both feature a strong lineup of well-loved...

Guerilla Announces Killzone: Mercenary for PlayStation Vita Updated

50°
48w ago - Guerilla Cambridge Tech Director Matt Porter announced today that Killzone: Mercenary for PlayStation Vita is updated today!

To quote: Hi, everyone. We're very pleased to announce the launch of the second update for Killzone: Mercenary.

Firstly, we need to start off with the bad news. You'll see that the patch size is similar to that of the previous patch, and you'll need a spare 1190MB in order to download it.

When this new patch installs, the first patch will essentially be deleted, but you will need the extra space initially. This download is necessary in order to pave the way for future planned revisions to the game.

We're currently investigating solutions to reduce the overall size of the title and free up more of your valuable memory card space. We hope to be able to share more news on that work very soon. However, it seems unlikely to us that the overall size of the downloaded game, plus the patch, will ever be under 4GB.

The main focus for the second patch has been in targeting some of the connectivity issues that have been experienced over the last month. We're hoping that many of you who were previously unable to connect into the community will now be able to enjoy Killzone: Mercenary to its fullest.

The other main area of work has been...

Video: Valhalla Knights 3 is Out Tomorrow on PlayStation Vita

50°
49w ago - XSeed Games Localization Lead Ryan Graff posted up a new PS Vita video today announcing that Valhalla Knights 3 is due out tomorrow on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: We're so thrilled that Valhalla Knights 3, our massive JRPG set in a sprawling prison, launches tomorrow for PS Vita. It's been a long, challenging, and rewarding process for the team.

The first thing you learn in this industry is how hard everyone works. Whether the project is a hundred-million-dollar blockbuster, or a smaller, niche title, dozens of people across many different teams spend months - if not years - of their lives carrying out a thousand different tasks. Some of those tasks are wildly creative, others bureaucratic and mundane, but it takes all of them together to deliver a game into players' hands.

On Valhalla Knights 3, I was a latecomer. I joined up in early September, when most of the hardest work had already been done. Most of my contributions have been on the bureaucratic side this time around, working with other XSEED members, the game's developers, and our friends at PlayStation to get everything ready for launch.

(To put my work on this project in RPG terms, think of the design phase as exploration, the programming phase as combat, and my work as the part where you open up the menu...

Surge Deluxe by FuturLab is Announced for PlayStation Vita

50°
49w ago - FuturLab's Dave Gabriel announced today that Surge Deluxe is heading to the PlayStation Vita video gaming portable console.

To quote: Hello, readers! I'm delighted to announce Surge Deluxe for PS Vita!

Surge was originally released on PlayStation Mobile and was well received by press and gamers, who took to the leaderboards (and NeoGAF) to show off their skills.

Surge Deluxe is FuturLab's response to feedback received from top players on those leaderboards (and from the NeoGAF community). They demonstrated a deep understanding and appreciation for Surge that was way beyond anything we could have anticipated!

If you're new to Surge, check out this [Register or Login to view links] for the original game. The simple, block-chaining and screen clearing mechanics gradually reveal their tactical depth as special blocks get added to the mix.

Advanced players won't just vent pressure to stay in the game, they'll utilize the vents at critical times to multiply their scores and create massive clearance combos.

So what can you expect from Surge Deluxe?

New Combiner Block

Our research has shown that Multiplier blocks are the most sought after for achieving big scores, but they rarely dropped...
