281w ago - Fudzilla: We said a few months ago that Nvidia drives two projects in parallel. GT200 65nm that got launched and branded as GTX 280 / 260 is out and there is a GT200 55nm chip that should be launched shortly.
Our sources are telling us that 55nm version of the chip should be ready either in late August or in September, which means that Radeon HD 4870 X2 will get some competition.
We believe that Shaders and clock of 55nm GT200 are definitely going to be higher than the 65nm and the chip itself should be a bit cooler.
This means R700 will get some better competition, and the fact that this ATI's dual card is going to end up faster than GTX 280 doesn't mean ATI has already won the war.

Microsoft wants to hit your version of Windows with an update, and this time you don't have to go rummaging around the internet to find it: just fire up Windows Update and let Microsoft do all the work.
After a few false starts XP users get the much-anticipated SP3 update, which promises speed boosts and some of the fancy security features found in Vista.
If you're a Vista user you're also in luck, since Microsoft has restarted its Vista SP1 distribution after some compatibility problems with Microsoft Dynamics RMS. Sounds like a party.
292w ago - A new Prince of Persia title has been announced for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and in a recent interview with the edge magazine, Ubisoft declared that the current title declared for the PS3 and X360 will not be ported to the Wii, however there might be a title in the works for the Wii.
Here's a snippet of the interview, property of the Edge Magazine:
"It's connected to the game in a very interesting way, but it's not a port. A complementary experience, shall we say?" it explained. ... We ported Two Thrones to the Wii. It was a quick and dirty port, i can say. With that we saw a lot of potential. The controls were not fully optimised, did not take full advantage of the Wii, but a lot of people saw the PoP universe could certainly have a home on Wii.
Since then people have been looking into that, but there's no formal announcement. We are investigating it very seriously. You would never see a port of the game we're making however. That'll never happen."
There has been many rumors popping up lately about the Prince of Persia franchise, some saying that it might go exclusively to one console or the other, but surely want to see venerable entries on all platforms.
We'll be waiting for the new Prince of Persia probably coming this summer.
