PixelJunk SideScroller Live on PSN, Your Questions Answered

350°
144w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an FAQ on PixelJunk SideScroller below, which is now live on PSN today!

To quote: PixelJunk SideScroller is finally out in the world! This retro-styled side-scrolling shooter plays like a love note to the arcade games I grew up with in my youth, and serves as a quasi-epilogue to the PixelJunk Shooter series.

Before you pick it up on the PlayStation Store, get a closer look with this handy new Q&A. Q-Games President and Executive Producer Dylan Cuthbert took to [Register or Login to view links] to answer your most burning questions. Read closely and you might learn a few helpful secrets!

Q: How many levels come with PixelJunk SideScroller?

A: There are 13 levels (called "Sectors") in total. This includes four absolutely amazing boss battles (Note: Expect an "old friend" from the Shooter-verse to make an appearance, but you'll be seeing loads of new faces as well).

One thing that's so great about SideScroller is that it has four difficulty modes, and the experience will change depending on what difficulty mode you select. New enemies crop up in Hard difficulty mode, and expect certain encounters to get a whole lot more harrowing because of them.

To quote: Now that PlayStation Network is once again operational, a great many of you are once again enjoying playing games online.

Of course, that's only part of the Network's offerings - and you've got some questions about how the downtime affected planned releases and online events. Here are answers to some of the more pressing queries:

Q: So what exactly is working right now?
A: Sign-in for PlayStation Network and Qriocity (including the resetting of passwords), online gameplay for PS3 and PSP, playback of rental video content on PS3 (if within rental period), Music Unlimited powered by Qriocity on PS3 (for current subscribers), access to services such as Netflix, Hulu, Vudu, and MLB.tv, "Friends" category on PS3 (including Friends List, Chat Functionality, Trophy Comparison, etc), in-game leaderboards, and PlayStation Home.

Q: I'm having trouble changing my password/I forgot which email I used on my account/I used a fake email to set up my account.

Sony on PlayStation Network Updates - Your Questions Answered

50°
189w ago - PlayStation Network Sr Director Susan Panico has put together a handy FAQ of their ever-changing PlayStation Network today, as follows:

It's been a busy few weeks on the PlayStation Network with several big announcements and new apps launching.

In the month of November alone, we announced the launch of the NHL GameCenter Live application, the availability of Hulu Plus outside of PlayStation Plus, the VUDU app on PSN, and BBC America programming in the PlayStation Store.

We've also shared a new episode of The Tester 2 each week and just last week we announced a number of new games on PlayStation Home, as we marked the 2-year anniversary of the platform.

And, in addition to the PSN updates we've shared, there have also been a number of new updates for PlayStation Plus subscribers and new features in the PlayStation Rewards program.

There's no doubt that PSN is in the midst of tremendous growth as we continue to expand our entertainment offering. We recently surpassed 60 million registered accounts worldwide - an increase of 53% in North America in just the last year - and we continue to see our users soak up the new entertainment content offerings.

In fact, movies and TV series purchased on the PlayStation Network video delivery service...

228w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a video interview today with God of War III's Stig Asmussen to answer fans questions.

To quote: See, [Register or Login to view links] we'd get him! As you could imagine, [Register or Login to view links] Game Director Stig Asmussen is a very busy man.

But as promised, we managed to lock him down for about 10 minutes to bombard him with your questions at the [Register or Login to view links] (also, check out our chat with Designer Director Todd Papy who filled in for Stig last week).

With T-minus four days until Chaos, Stig is looking very relaxed, and so he tackles your inquires with ease. And I promise there are no spoilers here, so no need to worry for those of you that are struggling to stay in the dark.

Can you believe March 16 is just around the corner?

Video: Final Fantasy XIII for PS3: Your Questions Answered

350°
233w ago - Sony's Social Media Senior Specialist Chris Morell has shared a follow-up interview video today with Final Fantasy XIII Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama to answer PS3 fan questions.

To quote: Earlier in the week, we told you we'd be meeting up with Square Enix to talk Final Fantasy XIII with Producer Yoshinori Kitase and Director Motomu Toriyama, along with the Battle Director Yuji Abe.

So all your questions went to the former, which you can read in full form below.

But the [Register or Login to view links] love fest didn't end there. With the game less than a month away (March 9!), Jeff and I got to play a nice chunk of the game... enough to get familiar with the battle system to chat all about it with Mr. Abe.

In the video, you'll get an in-depth look into the game's battle system, which I have to say, once you understand it, it's quite intense.

PSB: With western RPGs becoming so popular, how were you influenced in Final Fantasy XIII to encompass all audiences? - via DMPrince
