Video: Watch_Dogs: Welcome to Chicago on PS4 and PS3, Details

17w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt made available a new Watch_Dogs video today dubbed Welcome to Chicago for PS4 and PS3 fans with details below.

To quote: As the third largest city in America and an iconic urban landscape, Chicago also holds the distinction of being the most surveilled city in the nation.

Its network of cameras and security systems makes Chicago the perfect setting for a game like Watch_Dogs. One of the challenges of rendering a real city in a game is balancing creative vision with reality: people must be able to recognize and believe in Watch_Dogs' Chicago while allowing the game's unique tone to shape its atmosphere.

With the freedom afforded by Disrupt, an impressive new game engine exclusive to Watch_Dogs, Ubisoft has created a version of Chicago that is almost impossibly alive. Learn all about the new engine and how we've created a living, breathing Chicago inside Watch_Dogs here:

Watch_Dogs is never just black and white; whether in expressing Aiden's morality or building the city in which he lives, there is always another layer to consider. On the surface, The Wards may be crime-ridden, festering in the shadow of the Mad Mile, but beneath the mirrored sky-scrapers and...

20w ago - Ubisoft Content Marketing Manager Michael Madavi posted up a video trailer today announcing that Watch_Dogs is coming to both PS3 and PS4 on May 27th, 2014.

To quote: We're back online. Today, Watch_Dogs resumed communications with an all-new story trailer featuring our protagonist, Aiden Pearce, and our launch date!

Over the last few months, our development team has been working non-stop to fully realize their ambition and polish the Watch_Dogs experience to live up to gamers' high expectations. We've been absolutely itching to show you more, and we're finally ready to do just that.

In Watch_Dogs, Aiden Pearce - our clandestine vigilante - harnesses the smart city of Chicago using his smartphone. In addition to being a skilled hacker, Aiden can be quite persuasive in getting the information he needs using his wit, along with firearms, vehicles, and a stun baton.

However, in his work Aiden stumbles upon a dark underworld he was never meant to see - the cost of which takes a deadly toll on his family. Now, Aiden is hell-bent to exact his revenge on those who wronged him, and he's using every tool at his disposal.

The world he lives in is hyper-connected, with all elements of infrastructure...

Video: Watch_Dogs: Player Freedom and PS4 Multiplayer Functionality

46w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt posted up a video today showcasing player freedom and PS4 multiplayer functionality in Watch_Dogs on PlayStation 4 below.

To quote: In the latest Watch_Dogs video below, we get a first look at some of the experiences you'll encounter when free-roaming through Chicago.

While the main storyline is packed with great missions and intriguing characters, there are plenty of unique scenarios you'll encounter while simply exploring the world. Let's have a look at some of them.

At the beginning of the video, Animation Director Colin Graham says that what we see is not a mission, but rather a part of the living city experience that's only offered in Watch_Dogs.

All the activities you see above are, as he says, totally systemic, and can happen at any time and in any place. As the player, you have total freedom to engage with them or not, and you can do so in any way you want.

But remember, your actions will be recorded throughout the campaign, and they'll have consequences. And as Colin mentions, the AI is totally unpredictable, so a single variable can trigger a foot chase, a violent altercation, a car chase, etc.

The possibilities are...

Video: New Watch_Dogs PS4 / PlayStation 4 Trailer Arrives

48w ago - Ubisoft Community Developer Nik Schmidt shared a brand new Watch_Dogs PS4 / PlayStation 4 trailer video today at Gamescom 2013 below!

To quote: Hey guys! Couldn't make it to Gamescom? No worries, we've got you covered. Here's the trailer that was recently shown at Sony's conference. It introduces a rather intriguing group.

We already knew that even though Aiden was kind of a lone wolf, he wasn't always acting alone. He had some help. But in this latest piece, we're realizing that he might be facing more resistance than he had initially planned.

DedSec, an unorthodox group of "hacktivists" very active in Watch_Dogs' Chicago, doesn't seem to approve of Aiden's actions - even though in a way he's helping them uncover the many flaws of ctOS.

Therefore, they seem committed to exposing him and denouncing his actions to the population. And much like Aiden, DedSec appears to have plenty of resources, making him even more vulnerable.

So what's Aiden's real connection with them? Are they friend or foe? On top of dealing with his own problems and the occasional police chase, will he have to watch his back for DedSec members? I, for one, have trouble believing him when he says he's not in any trouble.
