Video: PlayStation Vita 2.12 VHBL Exploit By Qwikrazor87 Incoming

350°
57w ago - Today a video was posted demonstrating an incoming PlayStation Vita 2.12 Firmware VHBL exploit (which currently runs through a yet undisclosed PS Vita game) by qwikrazor87 with details below.

To quote: Some of you might have thought that we decided to not be a blog dedicated to hacking, given how slow the hacking news have been recently for the Vita. There was of course the hope of a VHBL port from The Z, but that was a while ago, and he is still waiting for a "significant firmware update" from Sony before releasing his work.

But fear not, as developer qwikrazor87 contacted me with his own VHBL port, which will be released as soon as it is fully tested!

Now, this exploit comes with some limitations. First, as is often the case, we are talking here of a usermode exploit running VHBL inside the PSP emulator of the Vita. This means you'll be able to play a vast majority of PSP homebrews on your vita (including emulators), but this will not let you play PSP isos (which would require a new Kernel exploit, the last public one was in firmware 2.02), let alone Vita isos (no public method exists for this, at all, so don't ask).

Secondly, and this might annoy...

69w ago - Following up on the previous updates, today PlayStation Vita hacker TomTomdu80 has made available the VHBL PS Vita usermode exploit for Apache Overkill (PSP Mini) with details below.

From Wololo's Blog: VHBL For Apache Overkill

What is it?

Vita Half-Byte Loader is a project to port the PSP homebrew loader HBL to the PlayStation Vita, through the PSP emulator on the PlayStation Vita.

This is the official VHBL download page for people who own a copy of the PSP Game Apache Overkill, and a firmware 2.06 or lower. If you don't own this game, or have a higher firmware, go back to the VHBL page to see if we have a version of VHBL working with a game you own.

How to Install and Run HBL on Apache Overkill

  • It is *strongly* recommended that you turn of all wireless connections on your PS Vita, and that you use OpenCMA on your PC instead of the regular CMA. This is recommended...

Video: VHBL Exploit on PS Vita Firmware 2.02 by Tomtomdu80 Demo

78w ago - Following up on the CEF TN release and XMB on PSVita news, today tomtomdu80 announced that he has found a new VHBL exploit for PS Vita Firmware v2.02 with a demonstration video below.

To quote via wololo's blog: A new user mode exploit has been found by user tomtomdu80.

What makes this user mode exploit different from others is that tomtomdu80 was able to port it to VHBL and has gotten quite good homebrew compatibility, not many exploits achieve this. Below is a video showing the exploit.

Before anyone starts saying things like “it’s fake” or “he’s moving the vita away blablabla”, let me tell you two things:

1- I personally confirm this exploit as I’ve tested it myself on my vita
2- he hides the vita in the video to prevent the game from being shown

I know most of you...

Video: VHBL New Game Exploit Running on PS Vita Firmware 1.81

750°
95w ago - Previously we reported that VHBL was running via a Monster Hunter Freedom Unite exploit on PlayStation Vita Firmware 1.80, followed by Sony patching it in v1.81 with wololo back this weekend demonstrating a new game exploit running VHBL once again on PS Vita Firmware 1.81.

The video shows VHBL running Wagic (Magic the Gathering simulation) and gPSP (a GBA Emulator), however, once the new game exploit is publicly disclosed Sony will likely release another PS Vita Firmware update in order to resecure their handheld console once again.

Below is the video, and to quote from wololo's blog:

Latest Sony firmware 1.81 patches the Monster hunter exploit, but as usual, Sony has been kind enough to only patch that specific game, and not prevent VHBL itself from running. The video below shows VHBL running on firmware 1.81.

This is VHBL running on an undisclosed game exploit on firmware 1.81. In the video, I'm showing VHBL running Wagic, as well as Game Boy Advance's "Advanced Wars 2″ running through the GBA Emulator gPSP. Those of you with a good...

Video: VHBL PS Vita 1.80 Running Monster Hunter Freedom Unite

750°
98w ago - Following up on the UVLoader Usermode PS Vita Loader development news, this weekend wololo has officially unveiled a video of VHBL for PS Vita 1.80 running on Monster Hunter Freedom Unite below!

To quote from his blog: I forgot to upload the “proof of concept” video this morning when I announced Neur0n’s exploit for Monster Hunter, so there you go.

In this video, we are running the exploit (which is done by going to the “Download” section of the game), I then go to the “savegame” section of the memory stick in order to install some homebrews: Wagic and CSPSP.

Wagic seems particularly long to install, but this is because its resource file is a single 40MB file which takes a little while to extract an copy. You can then see me play both Wagic and CSPSP on the PS Vita through the exploit.

The Files are coming soon

Update: VHBL r160 for Vita 1.80 is now released (via wololo.net/2012/09/11/release-vhbl-r160-for-vita-1-80/) as follows:

A few days ago we announced the name of the game that is being used for Neur0n’s...
