Space ships, sea creatures, and shambling undead! It's a big week for gaming, and PS Vita in particular, with a hefty batch of new games coming to the PlayStation family.

Octodad: Dadliest Catch arrives on PS4, with a lovable hero and hilarious play, to boot. Help a charming octopus get through life's little challenges (Like marriage!) without revealing his true aquatic origins. Be warned: playing Octodad may result in fits of teary-eyed laughter. Not recommended while driving.

Meanwhile, it's a huge week for PS Vita, which hosts the launch of The Walking Dead: Season 2 - Episode 1. The award-winning, post-apocalyptic series continues with the heart-wrenching story of Clementine. Survive in a world gone to hell, where every choice made could impact Clementine's fate.

But that's not all for PS Vita. Starlight Inception arrives as well; soar between the stars in this space combat experience that packs a full story, multiplayer modes, and even an additional tower defense game set in the same fiction.

Feeling a little more like a classic JRPG? Brave the dangers of first-person dungeons with Demon Gaze on PS Vita. All this and more below,...

Voofoo Studios Announces Pure Chess is Out This April 15th on PS4

50°
14w ago - Voofoo Studios Creative Producer Shaun Read officially announced today that Pure Chess is out this April 15th on PS4 with details below.

To quote: You can literally smell the excitement here at VooFoo towers, and it's not (only) due to the lack of personal hygiene time we've had as of late. We've teamed up with publisher Ripstone to bring you our latest, greatest version of Pure Chess, which hits PS4 tomorrow. And we're extremely proud of our baby.

If you don't know who we are, VooFoo Studios is a small team of passionate developers based in sunny Birmingham, right in the heart of England. We've always prided ourselves on making highly playable, photo-realistic games, and thanks to the power of the PS4 hardware we've been able to turn the dial up to eleven.

Displayed at 1080p and running at a silky-smooth 60 frames per second, Pure Chess on PS4 is a visual tour-de-force. We've doubled the texture sizes, added many extra layers of post-processing, added contact shadows, and applied ultra-realistic depth-of-field... which is a rather boring way of saying that this is a seriously good looking chess game! Couple this with a massively improved custom networking system to provide a much slicker online experience and we're confident you'll love Pure Chess just as much as we do.

XDev Studio Announces Dead Nation Coming to PS Vita on April 15th

50°
14w ago - XDEV Studio Europe Associate Producer Rogan Ogden announced today that Dead Nation is coming to PS Vita on April 15th, 2014.

Below is the scoop, to quote: Back at E3 2013, the PS Vita version of Dead Nation was announced, and today I'm pleased to confirm that the game will be launching tomorrow. You'll finally be able to carry the zombie apocalypse in your pocket.

For those of you who still aren't in the know after the launch of the PS4 version last month, Dead Nation is a top-down, shoot 'em up style game set in an apocalyptic zombie world. This classic PSN game was originally developed by the talented team at Housemarque, also known for Resogun and Super Stardust HD.

Like the PS4 version of the game, the PS Vita version has been developed by our friends at Climax Studios, and they've faithfully recreated the classic experience of the original PS3 game. Journey through the campaign as Jack McReady or Scarlett Blake, or replay your favorite levels and compete for top scores in the single mission mode.

Prefer not to experience the apocalypse alone? You and a friend can play the game in both online or ad-hoc co-op. Make sure you upload your stats whenever possible to support your country in the global standings.

Dead Nation will cost $7.99, and the Road of Devastation...
