To quote: Here is an update to They Do Not Die 2. I still haven't decided on a subtitle so if you have a suggestion then let me know.

What has changed:

  • The walls are solid.
  • The world is darker.
  • The zombies can hurt you and the other survivors.
  • When survivors die they turn into zombies.
  • On screen text shows how much health you have and how many zombies you have killed.
  • When you are hurt the camera zooms in.
  • When you die the game restarts (complete with a reset kill count and a newly generated city).
  • If you shoot a zombie it will then always consider you its target regardless of any other survivors that may be closer to it.
  • There are more zombies.
  • Everyone moves faster.
  • Buildings are now occasionally subdivided into multiple rooms.
  • The game pauses when the XMB is up.

To quote: So I'm making a sequel to my top down zombie shooter They Do Not Die. It is being made primarily for PS3 but there will also be a PC version and there may potentially be a Wii port of it later.

This is just a very early build of it but so far the game already features a truly massive procedurally generated city that is populated by human survivors and zombies that you can shoot.

One thing that I have working already that I'm really happy with is the fact that you (the player) are not treated special by the zombie AI. They will gladly ignore you if there is another human that is closer to them. There is something really cool about walking down a street and seeing people being herded by zombies.

There is collision detection that makes you bump into other people and prevents you from walking on water...

Valve Explains Why They Avoid the 'Too Technical' PS3 Console

550°
289w ago - How come we've yet to see Valve develop something for the PS3? Being one of the better game developers out there, you'd think they'd be one of the first to get in line tweaking with the PS3's hardware.

Apparently, that's not the case as they seem to find it too complicated.

Tom Leonard, Valve Game Designer, had this to say when asked about this very issue over at E3:

"The PC and the 360 are just more straightforward. We can focus on what we want to do, which is make game experiences, instead of sweating bullets over obscure architectural decisions they make with their platform... I didn't come into this business in the 90s because of some technical fetish.

I came in because I wanted to give people experiences that made them have fun."

Capcom to Give Fans What They've Been Waiting for at E3 2009

200°
292w ago - Previously it was rumored that the second secret title which Capcom will unveil at E3 2009 would be none other than Devil May Cry 5.

Since then, Capcom was contacted asking for their word on this rumor, and have replied as follows:

Capcom immediately replied saying, "It's a title fans have been waiting for, everyone will have to wait until E3 to find out what the secret title exactly is, but we can tell it is definitely not Devil May Cry 5."

There you have it, it's not Devil May Cry 5 but Capcom stating that 'It's what fans have been waiting for' certainly excites us and after giving it some thought we came up with 1 title that hasn't been announced yet and has a lot of fans waiting Onimusha 5.

Microsoft Rep on XBox 360 RROD Issue: They Fed Us to the Lions!

500°
318w ago - More than a week ago, GamingConfidential reported that a Microsoft customer service representative foresaw an outbreak of the Red Ring of Death (RROD) issue once the New Xbox Experience becomes available.

While most scoffed at the idea, the prediction held true and MS service lines are white hot with calls from angry customers.

"I hate what the company did this year," says the rep. "They released the New Xbox Experience a few days after the extended warranty period ended for most users and it's tough to explain that to raging callers. How do you say that MS just screwed them all?"

He adds "our bosses really fed us to the lions this time. We're getting everything from crying kids to death threats from angry adults. It's an orgy, I tell ya."

The rep ended the short chat by lamenting how Xbox 360 owners are blaming the update for even the most far-fetched issues. An example, he says, is a call from a 32-year old man claiming that his house's power went out after updating.
