Five years after his death, Jackson remains one of the most influential artists of all time. In an effort to keep his musical legacy alive, Epic Chairman Antonio "LA" Reid went through his archives and recovered eight* songs the pop icon recorded but never released from 1983 to 1999.

21w ago - Square Enix Senior Product Manager Sakura Minamida posted up a video today showcasing Drakengard 3 on PS3 dubbed Making Music with NIER Composer Keiichi Okabe below.

To quote: It feels like only yesterday that we announced Drakengard 3 on PS3, but in just two more weeks the game will be in your hands.

We're rolling out some of the best content yet in preparation for the launch, starting with this interview with the incredibly talented sound director of the game, Keiichi Okabe.

If you're familiar with the NIER soundtrack, widely acclaimed as one of the best game soundtracks ever created, you already know his work.

Okabe's interview is insightful and candid, as he discusses his musical group's unique approach to creating music, and even how the Drakengard 3 soundtrack will come across to fans of NIER's haunting compositions. But I won't go into too much detail, because you should watch for yourself!

Coinciding with this music-based interview, we've also updated the game's official Web site, [Register or Login to view links], which now features cuts of almost every track on the Drakengard 3 soundtrack, which is also available to purchase from the [Register or Login to view links]

Video: PS4 Music Player App Revealed by Shuhei Yoshida's PSN Profile

100°
22w ago - Following the rumors that MP3 playback is coming soon to the PlayStation 4, today what may be a Sony PS4 Music Player application was revealed by Shuhei Yoshida's PSN Profile!

To quote: There have been rumors of MP3 playback support coming to the PS4 with a future update, and something found by one of our readers that snooped on Sony Computer Entertainment Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida's PSN profile definitely seems to add solidity to those rumors:

Apparently Yoshida-san ran a "Music Player Demo" app yesterday, and it left very visible tracks on his PSN profile, as you can see in the pictures at the bottom of the post:

Of course we don't have clear information on what the "Music Player" entails, or if it'll really play MP3 files, but now we know that it exists, and it's being tested internally at Sony Computer Entertainment.

It's worth mentioning that normally this kind of unannounced app is kept hidden from profiles, but apparently someone forgot to flip that switch.

We'll have to stand by and see if the app will be announced any time soon, or if it'll make it in the upcoming 1.7 firmware update.
