Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn on PS3 - Sign Up for the Beta

200°
87w ago - Final Fantasy XIV: A Realm Reborn Producer and Director Naoki Yoshida has officially invited PlayStation 3 fans to sign up for the PS3 Beta today.

Below are the details, to quote: This is Naoki Yoshida, the producer and director of FINAL FANTASY XIV: A Realm Reborn. First of all, I would like to thank the PlayStation.Blog team for the opportunity to share with you the latest developments in our game.

We were recently in San Francisco as part of a tour to show A Realm Reborn to members of the gaming media. Our guests had a chance to take the game for a spin, after which I sat down with them for an interview. I expect that reports will be hitting various online media outlets starting today, so please keep an eye out!

We consider it one of our missions to reacquaint gamers all over the world with the wonders of FINAL FANTASY. To this end, we'll be incorporating the most memorable elements of the series into A Realm Reborn.

Mind you, this won't be limited only to the game's launch; in subsequent patches, we plan to keep adding more great stuff from FINAL FANTASY's 25-year history.

For starters, adventurers will be able to take on the Crystal Tower (FFIII) raid dungeon, do battle with classic summons (such as Ifrit, Titan, and Leviathan), and ride magitek armor...

PlayStation Plus: Sign 1-Year Membership and Get 3 Months Free

100°
91w ago - Sony PlayStation Digital Platforms Community Manager Morgan Haro announced today that those who sign up for a 1-year membership in PlayStation Plus will get 3 months free.

To quote: We're continuing to bring you great offers here at PlayStation to start off 2013 right, and our latest deal can help you take advantage of everything PlayStation Plus has to offer for the rest of the year and beyond.

For a limited time, we're giving you three extra months of Plus at no additional cost when you sign up for a one-year membership.

The time to become a PlayStation Plus member couldn't be better. We ended 2012 with the addition of PlayStation Plus and the Instant Game Collection on PS Vita, for a combined savings of $2,472 for the year.

That includes free games and discounts for both PS3 and PS Vita, and we've got plenty more plans for PlayStation Plus in 2013. Yesterday we released our brand new Classic White PlayStation 3, which comes with a huge 500 GB hard drive (plenty of room for your Instant Game Collection).

The Classic White PS3 package also comes with a voucher for one year of PlayStation Plus - if you redeem the voucher during this...

PS3 4.21 LV2 Patcher is Now Available, Sign and Run Homebrew

1300°
105w ago - Following up on the PS3 4.21 EBOOT Resigner SCETool Script, today I am releasing a PC tool called the PlayStation 3 4.21 LV2 Patcher.

Download: [Register or Login to view links] / [Register or Login to view links] (Mirror)

Basically what this does it disables lv2 from using the appldr to check homebrew. This will allow you to sign and run homebrew.

Just for a heads up. This has about no use to the average user because you need the lv2_kernel decrypted for this to work.

How to use:

  • Press the big button in the middle.
  • Located your file.
  • Open it and you're done.

Credits to KaKaRoTo for sharing the information.

Finally, those looking for some more PS3 4.21 CFW homebrew may wish to check out Comgenie's Awesome Filemanager v0.06 for PS3 4.21 CFW, BlackB0x FTP V1.2...

Sony Turns Off PSN Sign-In Due to Password Reset Security Issues

550°
179w ago - Today Nyleveia.com (linked above) reports news of a security issue with the PlayStation Network 'Password Reset' feature, and as a result Sony has turned off the PSN sign-in to remedy the matter.

Sony has also confirmed that it was indeed not a hack, but a URL exploit that was subsequently fixed.

To quote from Community Team Moderator Yaster via the official [Register or Login to view links]:

"Hey Guys. Please note that PSN sign in is currently unavailable for the following services:

• PlayStation.com
• PlayStation forums
• PlayStation Blog
• Qriocity.com
• Music Unlimited via the web client
• All PlayStation game title websites

Unfortunately this also means that those who are still trying to change their password password via Playstation.com or Qriocity.com will be unable to do so for the time being. This is due to essential maintenance and at present it is unclear how long this will take.

In the meantime you will still be able to sign into PSN...
