122w ago - Sony Assistant Producer Dais Kawaguchi announced today that fans seeking to fight to survive in Tokyo Jungle can do so when the PSN title hits PlayStation Network this September 25th.

Below are the details, to quote: You may have caught wind of this one-of-a-kind title's release in Japan or heard whispers of it this past E3, but we're excited to finally announce that Tokyo Jungle will be coming to PS3 via PSN very shortly - on September 25th, to be exact!

Developed by PlayStation C.A.M.P and Crispy's, Tokyo Jungle is an action-adventure game set in a post-apocalyptic Japan, where humankind no longer exists and animals must ruthlessly fight for their lives. In this world, there's just one rule - only the strong survive!

Tokyo Jungle puts you in the shoes (paws?) of over 50 playable animals ranging from Pomeranians to Lions. Playing your animal of choice, unleash your inner beast to hunt your way to the top of Tokyo's post-apocalyptic food chain.

There are two game modes: in Story Mode, you'll play as a range of different animals whose lives are intertwined as they struggle to survive in the Tokyo wilderness, while unraveling the mystery of mankind's disappearance.

In Survival Mode, you...

Video: Smash 'N' Survive Seeks to Overhaul Vehicular Combat

149w ago - Version2Games President Rajat Ojha has posted up a video today spotlighting Smash 'N' Survive and discussing their plans to overhaul vehicular combat.

To quote: The simulation industry has long been closely associated with game technologies and history seems to be repeating itself: India's number one simulation development company, [Register or Login to view links], has decided to venture into game development and digital publishing with [Register or Login to view links], a wholly owned subsidiary of Zen Technologies Limited. Our vision is to put India on the console gaming map.

I am thrilled to announce Version2Games' first title Smash 'N' Survive, coming to PlayStation Network for $14.99. The core gameplay of Smash 'N' Survive revolves around vehicle combat – it seems we're in the midst of quite a vehicle-combat revival!

But Smash 'N' Survive features several innovations such as a physics-based tornado into which you can push your enemies. This tornado is not the only environmental weapon: You'll find catapults, crushers and other hazards scattered around the maps, and you can use them to annihilate your opponents.

Will the XBox 360 Survive Past Christmas?

50°
324w ago - The red rings of death issue simply refuses to go away for Microsoft, and no matter how much it reduces the cost and extends the warranty one simple question remains: will the Xbox 360 ever be fit for purpose?

I guess that the headline should have read 'Will my Xbox 360 survive past Christmas?' given that I intend to use my own experience of Xbox 360 ownership to highlight that, no matter how hard Microsoft tries to convince the public differently, it just cannot seem to fix the hardware problems users of the Xbox 360 face.

Are you sitting comfortably? Great, then I will begin. My story starts almost exactly a year ago in October 2007, with a badgered father giving in to the requests of his son to buy an Xbox 360.

After doing some research, the newly released Xbox 360 Elite seemed to be the perfect choice as it was meant to have fixed the dreaded red rings of death problem. It was also black, and I like black gadgets when it comes to audio-visual stuff.

So it was that the considerable investment in the Xbox 360 took hold. There was the inevitable Halo 3, followed by Guitar Heroes in various flavours, some karaoke affairs, and ultimately a Rock Band. Along the way I fell into a serious GTA IV habit, I confess.

All was well in the Winder household. Even 'the wife' who...

The Fail List: Games That Won't Survive Christmas

300°
328w ago - The drought has officially broken for gamers. This upcoming Christmas is set to be one of heartbreak for many as tough decisions are made as to which titles will make it into the collection and which will have to wait or become a weekend rental.

Someone has to do it as friends and relatives will be soon asking what we want for Christmas. And so as not to disappoint them, this list has been developed to give you the games that will make it, and those that will fail (probably...).

Let's start with the biggest title to be a cannot miss, sell a relatives organ to purchase, must own smash hit, to the one that will cause the most anguish over having to be sacrificed...

KING HIT: Fallout 3

EPIC FAIL: Mirrors Edge

Fallout 3 speaks for itself. Although some of the content may sound questionable to casual gamers, the sheer scope and word of mouth will sell a burnt out bus load of units. Bethesda are masters at creating the type of world that will be able to handle the diverse story. Will be a massive hit and a deserving one.

Conversely, Mirror's Edge is starting to sound like a tech demo. You could argue that Geometry Wars and Portal started out in a similar way. The big difference though is that those had compelling gameplay, whereas we have heard...
