Curve Digital: Stealth Inc Sneaking Into E3 With Even More Levels

50°
44w ago - Curve Digital CEO Jason Perkins announced today that Stealth Inc is sneaking into E3 with even more levels.

To quote: Good day, PlayStation fans! It's the Curve team here, bringing you news about Stealth Inc, the stealth-puzzle-platformer for PS3 and Vita that means to exterminate you at any cost.

Taking control of one of PTi Industries' many cloned test subjects, it's your job to hack, leap and lurk your way through an enormous test facility, with only an assortment of disgruntled, laser-wielding security drones for company.

With its focus on hiding in the shadows, Stealth Inc allows you to experience stealth in its purest form, away from pesky distractions like "weapons" and "armor". Now brought to you in crisp, shiny HD, an innocent, defenceless clone being bisected by a laser has never looked so good.

The Curve office is hard at work gearing up for Stealth Inc's release, but it seems that we're missing a couple of our game designers! Curve inmates Sam and Hamish have snuck away to E3, where they'll be showing off their handiwork to the gaming world from the PlayStation booth. Look out for Stealth Inc (and Sam and Hamish's gurning faces) in this year's E3 coverage!

Meanwhile, we'd like to hint at some new and exciting revelations. Firstly - this is less of...

Stealth Bstard is Now Stealth Inc - Clone in the Dark, Coming to PSN

50°
51w ago - Curve Studios Lead Designer Sam Robinson announced today that Stealth Bstard is now Stealth Inc - Clone in the Dark and confirmed it is coming to PSN.

To quote: It brings me great pleasure to announce that the renaming competition for Stealth Bstard, our wonderfully nefarious stealth-puzzle-platformer, was a complete success!

Rather than picking just one of our favorite entries, we've chosen two and fused them together to create one ultimate, unified gaming title: Stealth Inc. - A Clone in the Dark!

It's with this we'd like to congratulate Ash Baker for 'Stealth Inc.' (and for the other 250 entries submitted thereafter) and Ben Collins for 'A Clone in the Dark'. You will both be awarded a PS Vita, a copy of Stealth Inc. - A Clone in the Dark when it's released and you will both appear in the credits of the game!

You are both stars and we are eternally grateful to you both for coming up with a clean name that our coarse minds were incapable of formulating!

If you yourself entered one of the above ideas for a game title but are not listed as a winner, this is because we had to accept winning entries on a first come, first serve basis... we simply do not have that many PS Vitas to give away! Take solace in the fact that your mind is powerful and the world...

Stealth Bstard Sneaks Onto PS3 and PS Vita This Summer

50°
55w ago - Curve Studios Lead Designer Sam Robinson has announced today that Stealth Bstard sneaks onto both PS3 and PS Vita video game platforms this Summer.

To qyote: Hello! I am utterly overjoyed to bring you news that Stealth Bstard, our outrageously devious stealth-puzzle platformer, will be sneaking its way on to PS3 and PS Vita this Summer!

If you've not yet heard of Stealth Bstard, it's our deadly stealth platform game with a fast paced twist! Following your birth in a cloning lab, you find yourself trapped in a vast and overwhelming network of dastardly chambers, replete with vicious, yet hilarious, booby traps and deranged robots!

Your task is simple; stay out of sight and get to the exit. Persevere to the bitter end and you might just discover the secrets of this vicious world!

We like to look at Stealth Bstard as stealth gaming without the waiting. Gone are the days of hanging around in a locker or a conveniently-placed human-sized crate! The mechanical foes of our stealth world are much less forgiving, instantly eviscerating you or your fellow captives on sight!

The game boasts brilliantly crisp visuals, an abundance of character, tight controls and a steady difficulty curve that gradually ramps up...

PS3 CFW Arch CEX 4.30 Rev 2.00 Custom Firmware, MultiMAN Stealth

1200°
73w ago - Following up on their previous release, French developers Dev-Team-SPT / ARCH have released PS3 CFW Arch CEX 4.30 Rev 2.00 and 4.00 Custom Firmware alongside a MultiMAN Stealth version for those with flashers who don't mind experimenting.

To quote, roughly translated: Revision 2.00 CFW Update to 4.30 released with CEX ARCH fixes and additions detailed below and a version of MultiMAN v04.13.00 Stealth.

As a reminder, a version of MultiMAN Stealth allows you to play backups of your games when connecting to PSN but you will appear as extended spirited play on the game demo version of JAP-NPJA90067 instead that you see on MultiMAN. A big thanks to Deank manager for Great About!

NOTE => For the moment it is too dangerous to release a 4.31 CFW because too unstable (a Core_os re-compiled on different CFW / OFW does not mix well with our ps3 as we have seen recently). I prefer the stability brickage massive!

Installation directory MultiMAN Stealth => dev_hdd0 / game / NPJA90067.

Interview: Dishonored's Harvey Smith Reboots the Stealth Genre

50°
87w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton interviewed Dishonored's Harvey Smith today who discusses rebooting the stealth genre in video gaming.

Below is the interview, to quote: Outside of PlayStation's own announcements, the indisputable big-buzz game of Gamescom 2012 was Dishonored, the upcoming PS3 first-person stealth adventure from Bethesda.

With relatively low-key showings in Cologne from many of the other major third party publishers, Dishonored really got its chance to shine last week and it duly dazzled all comers.

For the uninitiated, the game puts you in the shoes of wronged assassin Corvo Atano who is framed for the murder of an Empress - his former lover.

You'll be sneaking around a dark, atmospheric steampunk world, combining supernatural powers and a range of weaponry to avenge her death and unmask those who've conspired against you.

To be clear, when we say stealth we don't mean the signposted sneaking of, say, recent Splinter Cell titles. The AI here is unforgivingly old school - more redolent of the likes of Thief.

And that should come as no surprise - co-creator Harvey Smith worked on that series, as well as the original Deus Ex and BioShock precursor System Shock. We caught up with him back stage at Gamescom to learn more about...
