Sony PlayStation Plus: Castle of Illusion Free for PS Plus Members

5d ago - Sony Senior Community Specialist Kristine Steimer announced today that Castle of Illusion is free for PS Plus members with details below.

To quote: If you recognize the name Castle of Illusion from back in the day, you should know that this remake doesn't just offer upgraded graphics, but also periodic restructuring of the classic 2D side-scrolling platforming gameplay into a 3D space.

Although the graphics and gameplay are different, the storyline here is the same - dear old Minnie has been kidnapped by an evil witch and its up to you to save her.

As an added bonus, if you download this during the first two weeks it's available in PS Plus you'll receive the Castle of Illusion Sega Genesis Bundle, which adds the original Sega Genesis version of Castle of Illusion (1990) and a Mizrabel (that's the evil witch that kidnapped Minnie btw) dynamic theme for free. This bundle will only be available until 4/28 so be sure to download it before then!

In addition to Castle of Illusion, Plus members can purchase a number of titles at a discount including LEGO Marvel Super Heroes and Ethan: Meteor Hunter, and as a nice bonus you can download the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles OOTS avatar pack for free....
 

Sony Goes Behind the Scenes at JAPAN Studio with Allan Becker

5d ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton went behind the scenes at JAPAN Studio with Allan Becker today following their previous PS Vita announcement.

Below are the details, as follows: Earlier today we unveiled a trio of new PS Vita titles coming out of our JAPAN Studio over in Tokyo: Oreshika: Tainted Bloodlines, Soul Sacrifice Delta and Freedom Wars.

For those unfamiliar with the studio and its heritage, it's one of Sony Worldwide Studios most interesting assets, responsible for a diverse library of hugely charismatic titles, including Puppeteer, rain, Tokyo Jungle, Gravity Rush and Shadow of the Colossus.

To find out a little more about its vision and creative mandate, as well as its three forthcoming PS Vita titles, we spoke with studio chief Allan Becker.

2K just announced Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, a new entry in the awesome/ridiculous/ridiculously-awesome FPS series from Gearbox. It takes place between Borderlands 1 and 2, and explores the rise of the latter's charmingly sadistic villain: Handsome Jack. Oh, and it's on the moon.

Offensive opportunities will be plentiful, with new laser-based and "Cryo" weapons joining the already gargantuan armory present on Pandora, and you can play as one of four new characters - including Claptrap.
