71w ago - Following up on his previous update, today PlayStation 3 hacker SKFU has now shared a few more details on PSNSSS codenames below for PlayStation 4 (PS4) / Orbis stores.

To quote: PSNSSS - Codenames

PSNSSS development continues. Since not all products can be found via a simple search, because some have a flag which forbid to be found this way; I implemented a browsing function.

While browsing the now 522 different stores I noticed a few codenames multiple times:

  • CHIHIRO
  • HAMMERHEAD
  • SWORDFISH

It is still unknown what they mean, but based on the information gathered until now it seems those are codenames for upcoming SONY platforms.

I hope to be able to improve the app further to get more details on this matter.

From sinsizer: It contains Information about the game/dlc or whatever the contentID belongs to. You can also find "apollo" links which are used for the store png's etc..blabla...

72w ago - Today German PlayStation 3 hacker SKFU has [Register or Login to view links] that the first PlayStation 4 (PS4) / Orbis products have been spotted via PSN.

While there aren't many details available yet besides the picture below, here is what he states:

PS4 - PSN preparations began. Time to start research

First PS4/Orbis products already spotted via PSN, getting interested

From Wololo (via wololo.net/2013/05/03/ps4-test-data-and-upcoming-content-spotted-on-psn-by-hacker/): PS4 Test Data and upcoming content spotted on PSN by hacker

PS3 scene member SKFU is known for his habit of sniffing and manipulating networks packets (in particular he likes to tinker the stuff Sony doesn’t necessarily want you to see when communications happen between your home network and the PSN). Today he spotted some content on the PSN that seems to be test data for the upcoming PS4.

Using what is apparently a private tools of his (interestingly named “psnsss” a.k.a. PSN Store Secrets Search), SKFU has found some test products related to the PS4, on the PSN. He revealed his findings with a simple screenshot that can be found below.

From what I can see on the screenshot, the test data is not...

PS Vita PDEL-1001 DevKit Details, App EBOOT Paths by SKFU

500°
96w ago - Recently PlayStation Vita hacker SKFU acquired a PS Vita PDEL-1001 DevKit, and has made available details on the common application EBOOT paths alongside some theories on vulnerabilities via wololo as outlined below.

To quote: Following up to the news on SKFU (below), some additional information has been discovered with what could be the very first public glimpse at a developer model PlayStation Vita.

If you just currently read Wololo’s article about SKFU and his progress on Vita hacking then you would know there wasn’t a lot of confirmation on things, until now. It appears that SKFU has successfully got his hands on a PlayStation Dev Kit, and that might be how he made progress on his hacking research.

After some extensive research it was discovered (thanks to reader Maccle!) that he does indeed have a dev kit. SKFU posted a thread over at Assembler Games (assemblergames.com/forums/showthread.php?42700-PS-VITA-DevKit) trying to sell his dev kit for unknown reasons, however, giving out some surprising information.

“So, what might it be worth to collectors? A bit background information about PS VITA DevKits: The official SONY price for devkit models which are sent to third party developers is 1.900 Euros. There is no fix price for internal models...
