134w ago - Today Nyleveia.com (linked above) reports news of a security issue with the PlayStation Network 'Password Reset' feature, and as a result Sony has turned off the PSN sign-in to remedy the matter.
Sony has also confirmed that it was indeed not a hack, but a URL exploit that was subsequently fixed.
To quote from Community Team Moderator Yaster via the official PS EU Forum:
"Hey Guys. Please note that PSN sign in is currently unavailable for the following services:
• PlayStation forums
• PlayStation Blog
• Music Unlimited via the web client
• All PlayStation game title websites
Unfortunately this also means that those who are still trying to change their password password via Playstation.com or Qriocity.com will be unable to do so for the time being. This is due to essential maintenance and at present it is unclear how long this will take.
In the meantime you will still be able to sign into PSN...
178w ago - Entertainment Consumers Association (ECA) President Hal Halpin has extended an invitation to video gamers to sign the Gamer Petition to preserve video gaming in America.
To quote: This winter, the game industry – developers, publishers, retailers, et al – will face the single biggest legal challenge that such entertainment, broadly, has ever been up against and in the Supreme Court of the United States (SCOTUS).
The State of California had appealed the U.S. Ninth Circuit decision to strike down the so-called CA "video game violence" law in Schwarzenegger v EMA, which every court had done in every such "violent video game" case. California State Senator Leland Yee (D-San Francisco/San Mateo) is the former child psychologist who championed the "violent video game" bill from inception and is coordinating with California Attorney General,...
193w ago - Yesterday I got an e-mail from Sqare-Enix presenting Final Fantasy XIV (FFXIV) and informing me that the sign up for PS3 Beta tests have started.
So I want to share it with the community that every one who is interested can sign up now for the Beta test.
From the game's plot: Eorzea's nations used to be constantly at war with each other until fifteen years ago when the Garlean Empire, a mysterious nation from the east, razed the mightiest of the city-states, Ala Mhigo.
The nations decided to band together if they were to repel the invaders, but the Empire never came, leaving a state of detente throughout the land.
The resulting peace has led to a wide swath of soldiers and mercenaries suddenly without a job, and so they're now forming guilds and going by a new name: adventurers.
Finally, below is a Final Fantasy XIV "Life in Eorzea" #1 video from the launch of the new YouTube channel!
