182w ago - Today SCEE Community Lead Alex Weekes has unveiled a new PlayStation Home Square and Shopping Centre.
To quote: Today, we're pleased to announce that this Thursday we cut the ribbon and open the brand new Home Square and Shopping Centre!
We're really excited about finally releasing the new spaces, where we'll be able to bring you, the community that makes PlayStationHome what it is, exciting new experiences.
So read on to find out more about the completely revamped spaces and new content housed within them: there's so much I'm not quite sure where to start...
We'll kick off with the harbour-side Home Square, where you'll find plenty of exciting new attractions. Joining existing buildings - such as the cinema and bowling alley - you'll find all-new mini-games including Supa-Fun Robo-Goalie Time!!, a game where you will be put on the spot to kick home penalty shots past an increasingly skilful robot goalie.
Towards the harbour frontage you'll find a video screen topped by a scrolling news ticker, where you'll be able to find out all the latest goings-on in Home. Take a moment to gaze across the harbour view then have a closer look at the attractive new water fountain that doubles as a Polling Booth. Here you will be able to answer multiple-choice...
187w ago - Video game Producer Chris Parry has announced that Skate 3 for PS3 is rolling into shops today along with sharing a video trailer and extending an invitation to EA's launch party, as follows:
The Skate franchise is back and rolling into some sick new territory with the release of SKATE 3 for the PS3.
There's tons of new stuff for Skate fans to get stoked on - a whole new city to skate, innovative new team and co-op gameplay, new difficulty modes that enable you to skate exactly how you want, and for the first time in Skate, a Create A Park feature that will change the way the game is played.
If you're new to the world of Skate, don't sweat it because we've added Skate.School, a fun place to session where you can learn the ins and outs of skating as taught by Coach Frank - this weirdly hilarious and oxymoronic "skateboarding coach" played by legendary pro skater and actor, Jason Lee.
Your mission in SKATE 3 is to start a skateboard company and sell boards. Sell enough boards and you'll unlock four huge skateparks and plazas that are also "create a parks" with all sorts of varied and super fun terrain to play with.
The dev team is especially proud of Skate 3's commitment to blurring the lines between...

252w ago - A memo which tells GameStop that the Onyx/Black DS Lite systems have been discontinued has sparked rumors that Nintendo is preparing to make way for the new DSi.
To quote: Earlier this week Gamestop sent a memo to its retail locations revealing that the Onyx/Black Nintendo DS Lite system has been discontinued. Once stock is gone, as the memo informs, retailers are to remove the display boxes from shelves.
In its daily newsletter, Gamestop writes that "DS Lite Onyx hardware systems have been discontinued and stores will no longer be replenished on this product. Once your store sells through its current stock of this item, please remove any empty DS Onyx display boxes (onyx color only) from the sales floor and discard."
Though no other information was revealed by Gamestop, it's very possible that Nintendo has discontinued the Onyx DS Lite color in anticipation of the upcoming DSi launch in the US, which is rumored to happen this April.
The Onyx DS Lite and the Japanese Onyx DSi systems look strikingly similar, so removing the Onyx DS Lite from active inventory may be a strategy by Nintendo to eliminate retail confusion for when the company releases the DSi this year.
Nintendo of America has a history of only releasing a single color system in a new system launch,...
