84w ago - Sega of America Associate Brand Manager Aaron Webber has confirmed today alongside a video trailer that Yakuza: Dead Souls on PS3 is heading to the US.
To quote: Greetings Sony fans and Yakuza enthusiasts! Today is an exciting day, both for PS3 gamers and for us here at SEGA - the PS3 exclusive, Yakuza: Dead Souls is coming to the west!
It seems like only yesterday we were all sitting on the edge of our Sony-branded seats, hoping desperately that Yakuza 3 would see the light of day overseas. In the years since, we've seen not only the US release of Yakuza 3, but Yakuza 4, too - and, thanks to the fantastic support of fans and PS3 gamers like you, we're proud to now announce the latest chapter in the Yakuza franchise. What was once Of The End is now Dead Souls!
So, what is Yakuza: Dead Souls all about? I traveled to the top of the mountains and spent two weeks meditating to bring you the answers. In the end, that failed, so I just played the entire game instead.
It was awesome, and in doing so, I found that this game is a mix of:
• Zombies in Tokyo
• Yakuza with guns
• Beautiful Hostesses
And while I'm not able to reveal how much content from the Japanese version is coming over,...
85w ago - Sega's Associate Digital Brand Manager Ben Harborne has shared two videos today as part of double Dreamcast PSN Tuesday, which showcase both Sega Bass Fishing and Space Channel 5 Part 2 below.
To quote: Space Channel 5 Part 2 will be boogieing into the PlayStation Store later on today along with SEGA Bass Fishing - can you say Double Dreamcast Tuesday? Pick up either one for a smooth $10 each. Man, that's refreshing.
SEGA Bass Fishing has been an arcade favorite for years, gobbling up quarters since 1998 here in the US. Bass Fishing then caused quite a splash when it launched with the Dreamcast on 9/9/99 - a day very dear to all of us Dreamcast fans.
In terms of gameplay, Bass Fishing is surprisingly easy to pick up and get into, and it keeps you coming back for more with layers of depth added by the different fishing conditions and locations. Cast out in 8 different locations and lure in the biggest, baddest bass. Want to look like a pro? Use your Move controller!
If you're fishing in the morning try a surface lure. If you're fishing in the middle of the day, use a heavier lure to drop down to the cooler waters and pick up the prize bass you've been...
87w ago - Today Sega Digital Marketing Coordinator Mia Putrino has announced that Renegade Ops is now live on PlayStation Network.
To quote: It's been many, many months in the making, but as you'll have noticed yesterday, we've unleashed Renegade Ops onto PSN as part of the PSN PLAY promotion.
We're incredibly pleased to be part of this new promotion, and hope that you are ready to help General Bryant and the Renegades defeat the tyrannical Inferno and thwart his dastardly plans.
Hopefully you already have a good idea of what the game is about, you may remember I did ramble at length in previous blog posts, but if not allow me to give you a quick reminder; Inferno is threatening to detonate bombs in capital cities around the world, unless his demands are met, and it is in the hands of the Renegade Ops team that the safety of the world now rests.
General Bryant and his crack team are taking their range of vehicles, weapons and various specialities to the battlefields to destroy the Inferno threat once and for all.
If you haven't had the chance to try the game yet, then please help yourself to the trial that is now available via PlayStation Store; we're confident that once you've had this game in your hands for a couple of minutes that you'll be converted.
94w ago - Sega Public Relations Manager David Bruno has revealed details today on House of the Dead: Overkill Naked Terror for the PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: I'm pleased to be able to reveal some more exclusive news for you; this time in the form of a new level reveal.
We're proud to announce the details for the first of two exclusive levels from the Extended Cut; Naked Terror.
Naked Terror sees you fighting your way through a strip club (a real hardship I know), the streets of Bayou City and a bar, and not only do you have new environments to battle your way through, you also have new stripper and biker mutants to contend with.
The other cool aspect to this new level is who you play as, for this level G and Wash are elsewhere, leaving you to take control of Varla (previously an NPC in the original Overkill) and her stripper friend Candy.
Candy seems to have the required staples for any standard stripper: she has a heart of gold, is wholesome, innocent, yet can be naïve to the world. There is one big difference though between her and her stripper brethren; our heroine is pretty handy with a hand cannon, and skilfully adept at taking down enemies. Sounds like my kind of woman really.
There are connections between her and Jasper (the boss at the...
