165w ago - As a follow-up to the previous announcement, Sony's PlayStation Store Director Grace Chen is here with the return of the US (and [Register or Login to view links]) PSN updates today.

To quote: The PlayStation Store is back online and thank you everyone for your patience. You will notice a huge lineup of new downloadable games, demos, add-on content, themes, avatars and videos.

Also, PlayStation Plus has been updated with new full game trials, free games and DLC, free avatars and even more discounts.

You may have noticed that the content promised as part of the Welcome Back offer is not yet live. It is currently in the final stages of testing and will be available to download soon; we'll be sure to let you know when.

The next PlayStation Store and PlayStation Plus update will be this Friday, June 3, and then we will roll right into some special publishes starting next week for E3 (so be sure to check back daily!).

In the meantime, check out all the new downloadable content on PlayStation Store.

Videos: Beat Sketcher User Videos Sizzle, Updated Demo on PSN

50°
188w ago - SCEA Assistant Producer Dais Kawaguchi has shared some holiday Beat Sketcher user videos today alongside news of an updated demo on PSN.

To quote: It's been a few weeks since Beat Sketcher for PlayStation Move released onto PSN in the U.S. and we've been checking out all the great Beat Sketcher videos that fans are posting onto YouTube every day!

We're having so much fun and we'd like to thank you all for sharing your videos. This week we'd like to introduce few videos that caught the attention of the team.

Yasuhiro Kawagoe - Sound Director *noisycroak Co., Ltd.

"I liked the uniqueness of drawing traditional Japanese"ORIGAMI" using Japanese sounds. Also, I was surprised by the idea of having the background pattern come up using the eraser at the end of the video!"

Hiroshi Shiina - Producer

"The Artist quickly learned how to use the tools and I love the artwork! Also, I liked how he drew without having any hesitation. It seemed so natural. If anyone is having difficulty drawing on the edge of the screen, try moving your body to the left and right or stepping closer...

Video: Spelunker HD: Updated Classic is Coming to PSN Soon

50°
193w ago - Today Brett Ballow at Tozai Games has confirmed that updated classic and personal favorite of mine Spelunker HD is coming to PSN soon and shared a PS3 video trailer.

To quote: Does dangling from a frayed rope, thousands of meters beneath the earth's crust, with lit dynamite in hand sound like your idea of a good time?

I've got good news: [Register or Login to view links] for PS3 is coming to the PlayStation Store for $9.99 on November 23rd!

Spelunker HD closely follows Timothy Martin's brilliant original effort of 1983, even down to the quirky level-scrolling scheme that forces the explorer to get dangerously close to the screen edges. All of the cursed original enemies and terrain threats remain, but with so many new additions I've lost count.

It boasts 100 all-new levels set in 10 newly designed HD worlds, plus the familiar explorer who is liable to pass out from lacing up his boots too tightly: Spelunker may have the weakest character in all of gaming!

But what this anemic explorer lacks in might, he makes up for in bravery. He'll need it because Spelunker HD has more pits, tricks, traps and enemies than a cactus has spines.

I've been to the lowest depths,...

PSN EU Terms of Service Updated, Only Three Activations Allowed

500°
244w ago - Update: According to [Register or Login to view links], SCEE's Community Team Leader MusterBuster [Register or Login to view links] this is a typo, to quote: "This is a typo - the number of activated consoles is STILL 5. You should receive an updated email within the next few days."

Several months ago Sony sent out a warning to those involved in PSN game sharing, and recently the European PlayStation Network Terms of Service (linked above) has been updated to reflect this.

Although the [Register or Login to view links] still state that "You can download the title to up to 5 different PLAYSTATION 3 systems" the EU counterpart now states only three, to quote:

•In-game items or content that you have purchased may be downloaded from PlayStation Store. Pursuant to the particular terms of use that govern a specific in-game item or content you have purchased, you may use that...
