51w ago - Following up on the PS4 Dev Kit FCC filing and Sony DUH-D1000AA pictures, today YouTube user Wasif Akhtar managed to catch the PlayStation 4 DevKit UI (User Interface) on video at this year's Eurogamer Expo.

To quote: PS4 Interface at Eurogamer Expo - A quick video of the PS4 interface that I managed to capture at Eurogamer Expo 2013. I think it's the interface for the Dev Kits only though.

Also below is a tour of the PlayStation Booth at EuroGamer Expo in London from Sony Computer Entertainment UK showcasing the massive PlayStation booth.

Video: Warframe on PS4 Details, PlayStation 4 Developer Q&A Out

50°
52w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with a video today detailing Warframe on PS4 alongside a PlayStation 4 developer Q&A below.

To quote: When you read the word "ninja," what comes to mind? Exotic weaponry? Stealth and cunning? How about space-faring exo-armor and earth-shaking spells?

These images all fit perfectly into Warframe, a fast-paced, third-person action game launching with PS4 on November 15th.

We wanted to know more about this free-to-play, multiplayer suite, so we sent some questions over to Digital Extremes to get a better grasp on the world of Warframe.

Associate Producer Pat Kudirka took time out of his busy schedule to answer our inquiries, which we've listed below for your reading pleasure.

PlayStation.Blog: How would you describe Warframe to a newcomer in a single sentence?

Pat Kudirka: Space ninjas.

PSB: How has the team responded to working with PS4? What sort of opportunities, and challenges, come with the new platform?

Kudirka: Warframe is an original, self-published title from Digital Extremes. On previous titles we've always had a publisher, which was required to ship titles...

PS4 Dev: PlayStation 4 System Rumored to Launch in November

750°
57w ago - Contrary to the previous rumor, today a Tiny Brains PS4 developer stated that the PlayStation 4 system will be launching in November, 2013.

Below are the details, to quote: If you’ve never heard of Tiny Brains before, it’s an upcoming title from Spearhead Games (made from ex-EA, Ubisoft, and Eidos devs) for the Xbox Live Arcade, PC, and PlayStation 4.

In a press release issued today showing off that Tiny Brains will be playable at PAX Prime, they also revealed that it would be released as “a PlayStation 4 launch title in November.” They later continued by saying, “However, PAX Prime attendees won’t have to wait until November to get their hands on PS4 controllers and play Tiny Brains: they can try a demo at the show in booth 6305.”

Before you take this as confirmation that the PlayStation 4 will launch in November (I’m still hoping for a shocking October launch), this could be them just taking previous launch history and guessing when the PlayStation 4 is releasing. Or maybe they know something we don’t and it’s true. Either way, we’ll just have to wait and see if anything happens at gamescom starting on Monday.

Sony PlayStation 4 Development Unit / PS4 Dev Kit is Unveiled

550°
61w ago - Recently we reported on a Sony DUH-D1000AA PS4 Dev Kit FCC filing, and now Gizmodo (linked above) has made available a picture of what a PlayStation 4 development unit looks like.

Below are the details, to quote: "The cat may already be out of the bag, but for many months we didn't know what the PS4 looked like.

Now, we know what the retail version will look, but what about the developer box Sony hid during the big reveal and on Jimmy Fallon? Well, here's an exclusive image we've acquired of some developer boxes that were used at E3.

Like any PC you'd build yourself, the guts are what actually matter and in the case of game consoles, the developer units typically just hide final console design. They're never really that attractive, which is the exact opposite of what we'll be seeing this holiday season."

Sony PS4 Dev Kit FCC Filing: Extra Ports, 2.75GHz Max Clock Speed

550°
61w ago - Sony's PS4 development kit [Register or Login to view links] shows off extra ports alongside a 2.75GHz max clock speed with details below.

To quote from Engadget (linked above): "Sony proudly showed off its PlayStation 4 hardware for the first time at E3, and now we're getting a peek at what developers are working with this generation thanks to the FCC.

The DUH-D1000AA prototype Development Kit for PS4 is listed in these documents, tested for its Bluetooth and 802.11 b/g/n WiFi radios. As one would expect, the diagrams show it eschews the sleek design of the consumer model for extra cooling, a shape made for rack mounts plus extra indicator lights and ports.

Also of note is a "max clock speed" listing of 2.75GHz, and although we don't know how fast the game system will run by default, it's interesting to hear what that 8-core AMD Jaguar silicon may be capable of while maintaining a temperature between 5 and 35 degrees celsius.

Hit the link above to check out the documents for yourself, after seeing this and the system's controller become a part of the FCC's database all we're left waiting for is Mark...
