44w ago - Following up on the previous PS3 3.55 CFW fix for PS3Load by an0nymous, today PlayStation 3 developer condorstrike has shared his own PS3LoadX v1.1 modification fix for 3.55 Custom Firmware users.
To quote: Hi guys, I'm releasing this for the hell of it... PS3LoadX v1.1 fixed. I know an0nymous made his own version, big props on that, but it never worked for "me" and only me. This is PS3LoadX v1.1 by Hermes, one of the last releases he made before leaving the PS3 scene. That being one, if not the worst thing to happen to the scene.
I didn't mess much with the code, even though I wanted to add a planet or something, . Only fixed the spawning issue to make it work on 3.55 CFWs and added a new ICON0.PNG, cause I hate that PSL1GHT logo, but left the binary intact, also added a PIC1.PNG, SND0.AT3, and PARAM.HIS. ENJOY... CAW!
64w ago - Following up on the previous revision, French PlayStation 3 developer Markus95 has shared a Paintown PS3 homebrew game mod called SaintSeiya v0.1 today complete with details and video footage below.
To quote, roughly translated: After the Wii version of my second Mod Paintown: Saintseiya v0.1, here is the PS3 version.
Just a reminder, Paintown is developed and adapted by Jon Rafkind on PS3 and Schristopher Lunuxx, it is a question of a beat 'em all to the old style of Street of Rage or Double Dragon else to mention that they ...
You will find complete information, versions (Win, Linux, Wii, etc...) for download on the official website of paintown at: paintown.sourceforge.net
My Mod is dedicated to one of my favorite manga Saint Seiya (Knights of the Zodiac). This is no more than a first version, far from being finished, but already well supplied... I have gathered the bulk of the manga, trying...
67w ago - Following up on his previous releases, today PS3 developer deroad has updated his PS3 LED Changer homebrew application to version 2.0 which allows users to temporarily change their PlayStation 3 system LED colors.
To quote: This is a completely new version of Led Changer.
The app allows you to change the colour of your system's LEDs (the power light) and keep it also on the XMB or while playing games/homebrews.
This is NOT permanent; the first time that you turn off your PS3, the led will go back to normal. This version does NOT need any kind of external drive. all you need is a JoyPad; just it. Now the app is Lighter (from ~1.2 Mb to ~145Kb), Faster, for all TVs (HD/SD) and Easier to use.
Before installing, you can delete the previous version (if you want to get more space).
69w ago - Below is a video demonstrating my PS3 4.00 Dev_Flash modification, which simply allows users to install Retail signed package (PKG) files from the PlayStation 3 XMB.
Note: This modification does not allow the installation / usage of unsigned content / PS3 homebrew etc. This is purely a convenience hack and is aimed for use by those who have hardware flashers which allow dual boot.
After technodon's work creating a modified kiosk dev_flash which lets you install retail signed package files. The restrictions of having to use kiosk firmware inspired me to find a way to add "Install Package Files" for retail firmware.
This is hack does the following things:
adds "★ Install Package Files" and "★ /app_home/PS3_GAME/" to "GAME" on the XMB (allowing the user to install retail package files anytime they want)
adds other debug functions which are small but still there
does not give access to "★ Debug Setting" (reasons for this are explained below)
This installation procedure is the similar to technodon's original dev_flash hdd swap procedure
