200°
158w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared a Batman: Arkham City Q&A today with Rocksteady alongside a video trailer below.

To quote: It's been mere months since I belatedly finished Batman: Arkham Asylum and learned what all the fuss was about. Now, with Arkham City just days away from its October 18th PS3 release, I jumped at a rare chance to speak with Game Director Sefton Hill from [Register or Login to view links].

I solicited some of your best questions from [Register or Login to view links] and hopped on the phone with Mr. Hill to discuss a wide range of topics related to one of my most-anticipated games for 2011. Before you dive into the Q&A, get into the spirit by watching the new "Rogue's Gallery" video below.

PlayStation.Blog: In Arkham Asylum I was able to level up almost all of my skills by the end of the game. Does Arkham City bring more skill upgrades and more skill diversification, perhaps specialized character builds?

We've certainly expanded the number of upgrades in the game - we had 20 upgrades in Arkham Asylum, and we now have 33 different upgrades in Arkham City.

There are a lot of ways to develop your skills and use them in the game....

Assassin's Creed Revelations: Your PS3 Questions Answered

50°
158w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has outlined an FAQ on the upcoming Assassin's Creed Revelations video game for PlayStation 3 today!

To quote: Recently, Ubisoft invited us to sample the first few hours of Assassin's Creed Revelations for PS3. I learned a lot during that play session:

•The control scheme has been revised, pushing Eagle Vision to L3. This frees up the Triangle button for secondary weapons such as daggers.
•Altair comes into play via flashbacks following the thrilling Masyaf key retrieval missions, which are the successors to Assassin's Creed Brotherhood's Lairs of Romulus.
•The game map now has a Google Maps-style satellite view that I enjoyed while skipping around the sprawling city of Constantinople/Istanbul.
•The Den Defense mission brought tower defense-style sequences that are completely unlike anything I've seen in the Assassin's Creed universe.
•I saw someone actually *use* the Apple of Eden.
•I noticed some different UI in the Animus, and started to wonder why the interface was different (and no, Ubisoft wouldn't tell me).
•I saw Ezio stab a dude with a guitar - I think they called them "lutes" back then.

And I saw it all in 3D - those leaps of faith are now even more impressive....

Video: Codemasters Answers Your F1 2011 PS3 Questions

100°
167w ago - Today Codemasters Community Manager Ian Webster has shared a gameplay trailer video and answered F1 2011 PS3 questions from fans.

To quote: Knowing how large and vocal our F1 community is on PS3, along with how meticulous F1 fans are in general, we recently put out a shout out on Twitter to ask for the most detailed F1 2011 related questions you could throw at us.

The response we had to the call for questions was enormous, and our thanks go out to everyone who took the time to submit a question, the majority of which we've had answered below by Steve Hood, Chief Game Designer of F1 2011.

the_ghost__NL: what can we do in the co-op mode?

Co-op Mode enables you to play through a single season alongside a friend. Imagine the single-player experience (minus the paddock) with your friend as team-mate. It brings an entirely new dimension to Practice, Qualifying and Race sessions... can you win the Constructor's together?

Tom_Sheldon: Is the co-op championship available online or just split-screen only?

Co-op is only available Online. Elements of it are too complex system for Split-Screen

mylandro_: Will the ability to save more than four or...

Video: LightBox Interactive Answers Starhawk PS3 Questions

200°
178w ago - Today LightBox Interactive President Dylan Jobe has answered some Starhawk PS3 questions alongside some fresh video footage below.

To quote: We all know a good reveal is just the first step in making our fans happy and we're looking forward to showing you guys even more tasty Starhawk content and get you more plugged into the Starhawk universe!

So the other day I asked all of you on Twitter to send me Starhawk questions that you wanted to get answered, and while we're still planning on doing a full FAQ post here on the PlayStation.Blog, I wanted to take a few of the questions that were popular and answer them straight away. Here goes:

Does Starhawk have two flight modes?

YES. Initially we wanted to have Starhawk use only a single flight mode so that all players were unified. We worked a lot on this but ultimately decided that the needs of a newbie player and the needs of a hardcore Warhawk fan were just too far apart and we weren't willing to make the compromises needed to jam everyone into a single flight mode.

So... Starhawk has two flight modes and both are great! The default mode is very simple and great for new to mid-level players (and yes, reverse aiming issues have been fixed). It's a re-vamped version of our "arcade mode" (but...

Valve Software Interviewed, Answers All Portal 2 PS3 Questions

300°
184w ago - Sony's Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an interview with Valve Software today, who answered nearly every Portal 2 PS3 question on the minds of fans!

To quote: Valve Software has repeatedly described Portal 2 for the PS3 as being "the best console version of the game."

And for good reason, given that you'll get a free PC or Mac version of Portal 2 along with your PS3 copy, as well as exclusive cross-platform PS3-to-PC co-op gameplay and voice chat, Steamworks features and much more. Good stuff!

Not long ago, we asked you to submit your very best PS3 Portal 2 questions. We wanted every nerdy, detail-obsessed question possible and, as we've come to learn, PS3 fans never disappoint.

Last week, we finally cornered Portal 2's Project Lead Joshua Weier and Writer Erik Wolpaw in a bare concrete room under harsh florescent lighting.

We slapped a thick stack of your questions on the table, cracked our knuckles, and extracted the answers via a combination of brow beating, idle threats, and good old-fashioned seduction.

Actually, we just called them on the phone and goofed off for an hour or so. It went something like this:

Jeff Rubenstein, PlayStation.Blog: I'm one of the people who played...
