PlayStation Vita Pets: Puppy Parlour by XDev is Coming to PS Mobile

3d ago - XDev Associate Producer Neil McPhillips announced today that PlayStation Vita Pets: Puppy Parlour is coming to PS Mobile.

To quote: It's not too long now until PS Vita Pets launches in June, but maybe that's too long? So to keep you going until then we're launching a mobile app, PlayStation Vita Pets: Puppy Parlour.

We wanted to give people the opportunity to get to know the pups in advance of the full game's release and experience one of the core aspects at the same time, so we put together the app to allow players to run their own puppy pampering parlour.

Each day a new dog will arrive into your parlour and you'll be tasked with meeting their specific needs through a range of activities such as taking them for a walk, showering, feeding and playing a number of different games.

Games include Dream Chase, where you race to collect golden bones, and Snack Balance, where you tilt your device to keep your dog steady while it balances a tasty treat on its nose. Completing these games and looking after your pups will also earn you points that you can use to upgrade your parlour and unlock new items and clothes.

As you can see, there's loads going on! One of the really cool things about the app is that you can unlock exclusive costumes that can be transferred...

XDev Studio Announces Dead Nation Coming to PS Vita on April 15th

4d ago - XDEV Studio Europe Associate Producer Rogan Ogden announced today that Dead Nation is coming to PS Vita on April 15th, 2014.

Below is the scoop, to quote: Back at E3 2013, the PS Vita version of Dead Nation was announced, and today I'm pleased to confirm that the game will be launching tomorrow. You'll finally be able to carry the zombie apocalypse in your pocket.

For those of you who still aren't in the know after the launch of the PS4 version last month, Dead Nation is a top-down, shoot 'em up style game set in an apocalyptic zombie world. This classic PSN game was originally developed by the talented team at Housemarque, also known for Resogun and Super Stardust HD.

Like the PS4 version of the game, the PS Vita version has been developed by our friends at Climax Studios, and they've faithfully recreated the classic experience of the original PS3 game. Journey through the campaign as Jack McReady or Scarlett Blake, or replay your favorite levels and compete for top scores in the single mission mode.

Prefer not to experience the apocalypse alone? You and a friend can play the game in both online or ad-hoc co-op. Make sure you upload your stats whenever possible to support your country in the global standings.

Dead Nation will cost $7.99, and the Road of Devastation...

Backgammon Blitz Comes to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita This Winter

50°
6d ago - Head of Mobile Robert Karp at The Fyzz Facility announced today that Backgammon Blitz is coming to PS4, PS3 and PS Vita this Winter (Tuesday in the US).

To quote: Update: We are very pleased to share that Backgammon Blitz will be launching April 15th for PS3, PS Vita and PS4, priced at a bargain $7.99 Not only do you get the first ever recreation of this age-old board game for latest and greatest generation of consoles, but there is also the brand new and exclusive Blitz arcade mode, which takes the wonderful game of Backgammon and adds a whole new layer of depth and strategy.

I'm just the messenger, of course. The talented folks behind this lovely little title are known as VooFoo. Having made a name for themselves with Hustle Kings and Pure Chess, Backgammon feels like a step onwards and upwards for the studio, taking all of their strengths (gorgeous art design, a subtle but stylish approach to UI) and none of their weaknesses (cake night each Friday has always been their Achilles heel) into the next generation of platforms. VooFoo Studios yet again have done a fantastic job of making their visuals really stand out from the crowd - just check these screen shots below.

For me - and I hope you'll agree once you've gone hands-on with the final game - VooFoo aren't "just" developers...
