99w ago - Creat Studios Marketing Coordinator Rob Banahan has confirmed that starting tomorrow Mecho Wars will be available on PS3 through PSN, and will be free for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
To quote: I speak for the whole team when I say that we are incredibly excited about our latest game to hit PSN, the minis title Mecho Wars for $4.99.
Based on the characters, world, and distinctive visual style crafted by Luc Bernard, Mecho Wars is a turn-based strategy game where you command your troops to expand into enemy territory, control and collect resources, and conquer your enemy's structures.
The story of Mecho Wars details the rise of the Winged Crusade in the distant land of Divination Deserts, in a war between the Winged Crusade and the Landians. This is not your typical desert: there is plenty of water that separates land masses.
To sustain your army, you'll need to capture factories to expand your maximum army support, take over cities to earn gold from the rich economic hubs, and defeat the enemy by capturing their HQ building while simultaneously defending your own.
Don't forget strategic unit composition and troop positioning as each unit type has its own strengths and weaknesses. Mecho Wars features a day/night...
107w ago - Playerthree Ltd Senior Producer Luigi Fumero has announced today alongside a video trailer that Rumble Trucks for PlayStation Minis is rolling onto PSN.
To quote: We are delighted to announce that our new minis title, Rumble Trucks, is released today.
Our previous minis title was the 2D sidescrolling shoot'em up - Apache Overkill, but with Rumble Trucks we decided to do something completely different, a 3D stunt racing game.
Rumble Trucks is not your classic racing game. Playing it feels like a rollercoaster ride: high speed, steep hills, huge jumps.
Big jumps allow for big tricks, perform them and you'll gain a speed boost, use it wisely and reach the end of level as fast as possible to win a medal. On the way to the finish line don't forget to collect the stars scattered around the levels as they give you a time bonus.
You'll be able to choose between nine vehicles with different stats and then race on one of the twenty four levels divided in three worlds. Obviously you will need to unlock the trucks and the levels before being able to play on them.
Reaching the final level in each world unlocks the next world, but those...
122w ago - Laughing Jackal Community Manager Ross Brierley has posted up a video trailer today showcasing OMG-Z which is now available on PSN.
To quote: I'm here to tell you about our latest PSN minis game, OMG-Z; a blood-splattering, zombie-exploding chain reaction shooter.
In OMG-Z we have combined two of our favourite things: Zombies and Explosions. Lots of them. More than 80 levels worth, each of them filled to the brim with as many Zombies as your PlayStation can handle.
The biggest zombie fan at Laughing Jackal is undoubtedly OMG-Z's artist, Jake, who was influenced by the work of Tony Moore and Charlie Adlard's work on The Walking Dead comics and a hint of Madworld's sense of style helped to make OMG-Z the most blood-drenched game to make it to PlayStation minis.
But OMG-Z brings more to minis than gore and explosions (not that there's anything wrong with just having gore and explosions ). Underneath it all OMG-Z has a rock solid chain reaction mechanic which understands the simple pleasure in shooting a zombie in just the right spot to start a chain reaction that sprays the level in blood.
The more zombies you kill on a level the more money you win, allowing you to increase your...
122w ago - Laughing Jackal LTD Development Manager Daren Morgan has announced today that Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death is heading to PlayStation Minis alongside a video trailer below.
To quote: Steve Jackson & Ian Livingstone's Fighting Fantasy series of interactive Gamebooks - "The adventures in which YOU are the Hero!" - have been published in 27 countries in 23 languages and have sold over 16 million copies.
Talisman of Death, one of the best-known Fighting Fantasy adventures, is the latest minis title from Laughing Jackal. Talisman of Death has also been the most controversial title in the series, with gory passages quoted by the Evangelical Alliance in their campaign to have Fighting Fantasy books banned as unsuitable for children.
Fighting Fantasy: Talisman of Death takes you to the once peaceful world of Orb, which is now in terrible danger. Dark forces are working together to unleash the awesome might of the Evil One. Your mission is to destroy the Talisman of Death before the dark lord's minions reach you. But beware! Time is running out!
Most of us here at Laughing Jackal are massive Fighting Fantasy fans. In fact for many of us, our earliest gaming memories are sitting...
122w ago - Today Alexander Bravve at Nordcurrent has shared a video trailer and confirmed that Monochrome Racing will be speeding into PlayStation Minis tomorrow.
To quote: I'd like to talk about Monochrome Racing - a minis game that we are releasing on the 3rd of August.
Monochrome Racing is a unique racing game that takes place in a black and white world. And since the world is black and white, colour becomes the scarce resource that players compete for.
You start the race with your car completely charged; it is bright and full of colour. As you drive, the colour gradually vanishes away and in order to recharge the car, you need to drive over the coloured checkpoints. If you car turns monochrome it is knocked out. The goal of each level is to finish first and earn as much money as you can.
There are several types of power-ups randomly spread across the level. Once taken, they can increase your car's characteristics (speed for example), or can damage your opponents with bombs that leave a huge wave behind them. There is a garage where you can spend your money.
To get a better idea of what is going on in Monochrome Racing, please have a look at the game video:
