180w ago - SCEE's Head of Communications Nick Caplin is here today with some new details on SNEE and SCEE's Identity Theft Protection Program available now [Register or Login to view links], as follows:

Last week we informed you that we would be liaising with providers of identity theft protection plans following the malicious attack on PlayStation Network throughout our region.

We are now in a position to provide you with actual details of the programme for current PlayStation Network and Qriocity consumers in UK, France, Spain, Italy and Germany.

As I have explained previously, identifying such programmes for the many countries within the SCEE region is a very complicated process.

Each country has a different way of handling identity theft; whilst some offer relatively sophisticated services, others may not. Therefore, we must stress that this is an ongoing process which will see new identity theft protection programmes identified where possible.

That said, we are pleased to advise that [Register or Login to view links], a leader in identity protection products in Europe, will be offering a comprehensive service that covers a significant proportion of PSN users free...

203w ago - Today Chris Hagedorn of the Sony PlayStation Rewards Team has revealed that Quests are being added to the PlayStation Rewards Program.

To quote: Since the launch of the PlayStation Rewards beta, members have been benefiting from doing the things they love to do on PlayStation and progressing towards Select, Pro and Legendary.

You may have even seen some of the members that have already reached a rewards tier showing off their status in the PlayStation.com forums or online via their exclusive PSN avatars.

When we announced the PlayStation Rewards program, we promised that it would continually be evolving. We have heard your feedback and today are excited to announce the addition of Quests to the program, which provide yet another fun way for members to participate and earn progress. Quests are PlayStation-related activities that you can complete to directly add to your progress meter.

For example, with Quests, users will earn progress for playing an eligible PlayStation Move game in the "Move It" quest, for watching PlayStation Network's PULSE in HD on their PS3 system in the "Check Your Pulse" quest, or for visiting the Central Plaza in PlayStation Home in the "No Place Like Home" quest.

Nine Quests will be released in the beta by tomorrow,...

100°
219w ago - Today Zipper Interactive's Jeremy Dunham has announced that MAG will soon be compatible with PlayStation Move, and he shared details on a new PS3 Beta program as follows:

If you're a fan of our massive 256-player first-person shooter, MAG, then today's news should be of great interest to you.

Truth be told, we have so many tremendous revisions coming to our "ever-changing global war" that it's almost impossible to tell you about everything we have planned in a single article... but we have to begin somewhere, and we're starting with PlayStation Move!

That's right, later this Autumn MAG will offer full compatibility with the PlayStation Move!

This added support means that users have another way to experience the most ambitious first-person shooter out there. Pinpoint accuracy and easy access to all of the game's mechanics ensure that players of any type – be they hardened veterans or new recruits – can enjoy a shooting experience unlike any other.

But PlayStation Move support isn't all we're working on. Because our upcoming content is so important to the game and its future, we want your assistance to make sure we get it right! With that notion in mind we're pleased to announce that, one week from today on August 24, we're inviting...
