181w ago - Today Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared an interview with Capcom Producer Mike Schmitt on Dead Rising 2 for PS3 from E3 2010.
To quote: While Sid and I conducted a video interview on Marvel vs Capcom 3 (post coming soon!), SCEE's James Gallagher traveled across the cavernous Capcom booth to the Dead Rising 2 area.
The game has progressed significantly on PS3 since we saw it a couple months back, so he held a chat with Producer Mike Schmitt. And because James is English, he didn't even realize that the man hit over 500 home runs! Facepalm!
Fortunately, the fact that he wasn't starstruck allowed him to focus on the game itself. Have at it, James:
Dead Rising 2 is a zombie game with its tongue hanging out of its cheek. You control Chuck Greene, a motorcross champion trapped in a zombie apocalypse in the fictional Fortune City, which is loosely based on Las Vegas.
After tearing through a few hundred zombies with a pair of chainsaws attached to a canoe paddle, I lurched over to Capcom's Mike Schmitt and asked a few questions.
What kind of story is there in Dead Rising 2?
"Chuck is competing in a gameshow called Terror is Reality...
187w ago - Today Capcom's Europe Brand Manager Richard Earl has announced alongside a video trailer that Lost Planet 2 is officially released for Sony's PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: The sequel to Lost Planet: Extreme Conditions has seen massive changes take place across the planet of E.D.N.III.
We think we've got climate change issues? Earth has nothing on this place! The snow has melted across the planet to reveal all kinds of hostile environments in which you will have to adapt and do battle.
The local Akrid creatures are also still as angry as ever... As well as changes to the environment the game has also seen massive advances for the sequel.
The multi-player mode for the game sees you and three mates work together through 6 massive levels battling rival pirate clans, akrid creatures and massive (and I really mean MASSIVE) bosses. To help you take on all these enemies there is a huge array of weapons and Vital-Suits which amounts to some seriously hard firepower.
There's also a huge level of customisation in the game with which you can create your own unique pirate and unlock weapons, power ups and emotes. You can then take your own character into the online multiplayer modes to unleash some serious pwnage.
226w ago - Today Capcom's John Diamonon has announced that Marvel Vs Capcom 2 for PlayStation 3 is hitting PSN, to quote:
It's my pleasure to announce that Marvel Vs. Capcom 2 arrives on PSN today for only $14.99. (Take that eBay!).
Marvel was nice enough to provide an exclusive offer to the PSN faithful. The first 15,000 purchasers of the full game will receive a code for a free one month subscription to Marvel Digital Comics! If you are one of the lucky ones, you'll receive an email sometime early next week with your redemption code.
Wait, there's more. Since I know you all have mixed feelings about the original Jazz soundtrack, we decided to implement in-game XMB music so you can choose what tracks you listen to while executing your 100-hit DHCs on unsuspecting n00bs. "I'm gonna take you for a ride. I'm gonna take you for a ride. I'm gonna take you for a ride."
Speaking of music, we collaborated with some of hip hop's true artists to come up with a mix tape inspired by the game. The soundtrack includes songs from Talib Kweli, Raekwon, Hieroglyphics, Living Legends, E-40, Planet Asia, Havoc from Mobb Deep, Mc Supernatural, DJ Qbert, Oh No, DJ Toure and more. If you were lucky enough to go to Comic-Con a few weeks ago and snag one of the super limited vinyls we...
247w ago - As you may or may not know, the Capcom support for their classic PS1 titles on the PSN has, well, been quite lackluster.
They only have Street Fighter Alpha on the store. Well, it seems there might be more content coming soon.
When Christian Svensson, strategic planning & business development VP of Capcom was asked whether or not Capcom would be adding more games to the store, he had this to say on Capcom Unity:
"The first PS1 titles for PSN were submitted last week... when I have some dates for them, we'll let you know"
So far, Capcom only has one PS1 game in its classics roster: Street Fighter Alpha - excluding the HD remix of Super Puzzle Fighter II Turbo.
The ESRB has hinted at Street Fighter Alpha 2 & 3 coming to PSN for some time now, but these might not be the titles Svensson is currently referring to. Perhaps we'll see more Resident Evil games on PSN like in Japan.
265w ago - Today Ro Hernandez of the PlayStation Store Team has expanded on what was reported a few weeks ago in our past news.
To quote: Hope you've been enjoying the beefy updates over the past couple weeks. If you have been a frequent visitor to PlayStation Store, you would have noticed the custom categories we created for Halloween and for the Siren: Blood Curse promotion.
This Thursday, we are releasing a custom category for Capcom. As you may know, Capcom has been a huge supporter of PlayStation Network, so we collaborated on a special storefront to coincide with the release of Age of Booty.
Within this "Capcom Store", you'll be able to browse through all Capcom digital content available from PlayStation Network. Once inside the Capcom category, you will notice that all their content is sorted by title. This allows you easy access to view all content related to a particular game. This includes all full game content, demo and promotional items (themes, wallpapers, etc).
Be sure to keep a look out for this new offering dropping this Thursday and some exclusive Capcom content headed to PlayStation Store in the future!
