Video: Lights, Camera, Party PlayStation Move Fun Hits August 28th

50°
42w ago - Frima Studio Executive Producer Martin Brouard has announced today alongside a video trailer that Lights, Camera, Party will be delivering PlayStation Move fun on August 28th.

To quote: Last year, my team at Frima Studio set out to create the ultimate PlayStation Move party game and in just a few weeks the whole world can enjoy the fruit of our labor on PSN.

Lights, Camera, Party! embodies everything we think a party game should be; fast-paced, funny, quick to set up, social and full of a variety of mini-games, challenges and Trophies for a fresh experience each time you play.

With only one Move controller required to play, it keeps the whole family on their feet and frantically passing the controller between fits of laughter.

You and your friends will step into the shoes of the Funzinis, a family forced to compete in an array of wild game shows to win a new home after the TV station's satellite crash lands in their living room.

In the primary Story mode, up to four players guide the Funzini family through five rounds, each modeled after a type of TV show (Cooking, News, Sci-Fi, and so on) that contain up to 24 fast-paced mini games.

Other modes support up to eight players...

Sony Announces Start The Party! Save the World Hits PSN in March

50°
66w ago - Sony Assistant Producer Shaun Wharton has announced today that Start The Party! Save the World will officially be hitting PSN on March 6, 2012.

To quote: On March 6, we're bringing PlayStation Move's fun-filled Start The Party! franchise back for a brand new adventure with a heroic twist in Start The Party! Save the World.

Available exclusively for PlayStation 3, this PSN downloadable title uses PlayStation Move and the latest augmented reality technology to turn you and up to three of your friends and family members into super heroes for the ultimate party experience.

It's up to you to save the world by thwarting the unbearable Dr. Terrible and his evil schemes while competing in 20 madcap mini-games. Using the PlayStation Eye camera, you can snap a photo to put your face in the center of the action and then use your PlayStation Move motion controller to save stranded divers, defuse bombs before they explode, splat mutant piranhas, battle dangerous dinosaurs and zap abominable alien invaders!

It's easy to keep the party going - just pass your Move controller to your friends to let them join the fun or have them simultaneously jump into gameplay using a DualShock controller to either help or hinder the exciting on-screen action!

Video: Start the Party - Save the World PlayStation 3 Trailer Out

200°
78w ago - Sony European Product Manager Erica Doddato has posted up the official Start the Party - Save the World PlayStation 3 trailer video today.

To quote: Start the Party! Save the World is hitting the shelf this week and it's packed with 20 fun-filled mini-games that will fire up your evenings with your friends and family.

Determined to take over the world by any means necessary, Dr. Terrible has a whole host of fiendish plans up his sleeve: dumping toxic waste in the water supply, attacking people with man-eating piranhas or unleashing a swarm of poisonous bugs on the world, nothing is beneath him.

Armed with a motion controller and PlayStation Eye camera, it's up to you and your friends to use whatever tools are at your disposal to foil Dr. Terrible's evil schemes!

Transform your PS Move into a mechanical grabbing arm, use it as a laser zapper to shoot down alien invaders or even jump into a deep-sea submarine to rescue divers stranded at the bottom of the ocean.

If you want to live the adventure right away, why don't you head over to the PlayStation Store? Here you can find a free demo with three mini-games to take a sneak peak at the great fun ahead.

Video: Corpse Party and the Psychology of Horror on PSP

200°
81w ago - XSEED Localization Specialist Tom Lipschultz has posted up a video today spotlighting Corpse Party and the Psychology of Horror on Sony's PSP handheld console.

To quote: We love to be scared. There's something so primal and universal about fear, and a good horror story can really bring out the best of it, making our hearts race and our minds veer toward the darkest recesses of the human psyche. And we just keep going back for more!

Yet by the same token, horror has become so passe that we barely even react when we encounter imagery of skeletons, zombies, witches, bats, vampires and ghouls. True primal fear is hard to come by in the modern world, and this applies to video games as well.

When you hear the term "horror game," what's the first thing that pops into your mind? Probably "zombies" since that seems to characterize much of the horror genre nowadays.

Most modern horror games assault you with wave after wave of zombies, and you can typically one-shot them back to their graves. They may look scary, but when's the last time you were actually frightened in a zombie shooter game?

Maybe you had an exciting time playing one, and jumped at a handful of startling moments, but the mere fact that you're able to defend yourself - that you have a means of fighting...
