Video: Metrico on PS Vita Dated, New PlayStation Vita Trailer Out

50°
2w ago - Digital Dreams Level Designer Roy van de Mortel confirmed today alongside a PlayStation Vita video trailer that Metrico on PS Vita arrives on August 5, 2014.

To quote: Hi fellow PlayStation enthusiasts! We're finally ramping up to the release of our first big title, the infographics action game [Register or Login to view links]. We got loads of questions during development, which we are really excited to finally answer in this blog post!

One of the most frequently asked question is; when is Metrico coming out? We're proud to announce that Metrico will be available on PlayStation Network August 5th in the US, exclusively on PS Vita!

Another frequent question was: "Who did the awesome music?" You're in the right place to find out as well! But the most frequent question was the request for Metrico gameplay footage. We want to start this post by giving you exactly that:

Showing Metrico gameplay

The main reason we took such a long time to show gameplay footage is because we always felt the main mechanics of Metrico are quite tricky to explain through video. We never got around to solving this, even though this is probably a recurring issue for novel game concepts.

Atlus Announces Abyss Odyssey PS3 is Out Today on PlayStation 3

2w ago - Atlus PR Manager John Hardin announced that Abyss Odyssey PS3 is officially out today on PlayStation 3 with details below.

To quote: ACE Team and ATLUS are back again with the procedurally generated adventure game with fighting game elements (EVO shoutout!), available today on PlayStation Store.

The look of the game all draws from an incredible combination of Art Nouveau and Chilean folklore, which is where many of the awesome enemies come from.

Speaking of awesome enemies, most of them have full movesets - meaning that every time you face an enemy, your combat strategy might change. And you'll have to be mindful of that, since the three main characters, Katrien, Ghost Monk, and Pincoya, will have to earn their skills through combat.

These skills can only be changed at certain points in the procedurally created abyss, so there's plenty of strategy to work around.

Another strategy, and a personal favorite of mine, is capturing the souls of fallen enemies. Assuming your experience level is high enough (it doesn't reset if you die), you can use your ultra attack to capture the very soul of the enemy and then use it to take their form in combat.

Which actually is a viable strategy at higher experience levels, since it essentially provides you with...

3w ago - Bandai Namco Games America Inc Associate PR Specialist Grace Liu announced that One Piece Unlimited World Red is out today on PS3.

Below are the details, to quote: Yo ho ho! It's time to join the rambunctious Straw Hat Pirates on their grand adventures in One Piece Unlimited World Red on PS3. PS Vita owners can look forward to a portable version next week!

In Unlimited World Red, you'll encounter two new faces in the One Piece saga - Pato, a sassy raccoon-dog who befriends the Straw Hat Crew, and The Red Count, a frighteningly powerful pirate with a malicious agenda.

One Piece fans will be pleased to know that both these characters were created by Eiichiro Oda, the legendary author of One Piece. Will they have mysterious powers? Check. Strong personalities? Check. Quirky laugh? Nukiki!

But what's a pirate life without crewmates? Take on the adventure in local co-op play to explore the vibrant islands and engage in flashy battles with trusty friends at your side.

Enter the Battle Coliseum, a bone-crushing new mode that was not included in last year's original Japanese release. Based on the most up-to-date story arc in the manga and anime series, Battle Coliseum Mode will let you choose from many powerful pirates and marines to duke it out in the arena.

MouseCraft is Out Today on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita Platforms

100°
3w ago - Crunching Koalas Co-Founder Tomasz Tomaszewski announced that MouseCraft is out today on PS4, PS3 and PS Vita platforms!

To quote: We're very happy to announce that MouseCraft is available today on PlayStation Store for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita. We're proud to see our game launched on PlayStation as a console exclusive, and we hope that everyone enjoys playing.

It seems like a long time ago when we formed our studio, Crunching Koalas, and began working on MouseCraft. Way back when we started we decided to focus on a specific type of game that we called "Crossover Games" - games that can appeal to indie, casual, and core gamers all at once.

That's a simple idea on paper, but much harder to achieve in a game. We've tried our best to make MouseCraft a crossover game that can be enjoyed by everyone.

To do this, we've focused on making a puzzle game with simple mechanics explainable in one sentence (drop blocks to help the mice get to the cheese), but difficult to master.

We've made the difficulty depend on the player making good decisions, not manual skills, and we worked to reward players that go above and beyond in terms of item collecting and puzzle solving, without punishing those who simply want to play through at their own pace.

Once again though,...
