13w ago - Just days after the PS4 / Orbis controller prototype surfacing, today Superannuation has revealed that Sony / Gaikai has registered PlayStation Cloud domains in preparation for tomorrow's PlayStation 4 launch.

To quote: "Superannuation has dug up domains for 'playstation-cloud.com', 'playstation-cloud.org' and 'ps-cloud.net', all registered on February 15 by Gaikai - the cloud gaming service which Sony acquired in July last year.

This comes just as the industry braces for what it expects to be the unveiling of Sony's next-generation PlayStation 4, or codename 'Orbis', at tomorrow's NYC event.

15w ago - Following up on the previous rumor of Sony's PlayStation 4 costing around $400, today VGLeaks (linked above) has shared some details on the PS4 / Orbis Dual Camera functionality from a recent patent uncovered.

Below is the scoop, to quote: "When we unveiled Orbis, an enigmatic device called "Dual Camera" was also listed within the info.

• "Dual Camera" appears to be an evolutioned HD Eyetoy instead of a Kinect device, based on the features offered right now.
  
• It contains a pair of wide-angle cameras. Each camera offers a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels (720p).
  
• Sound is processed by a 4 microphone array working at 48 Khz.
  

The device can perform some non gaming tasks such as:

• Recognize the user and log in the system
  
• Video chat
  

In the gaming field it supports head and hand tracking as new game inputs. Currently it's not clear if this device will support body tracking in...

15w ago - Following up on the previous Sony PlayStation 4 rumors, today a well-known Japanese newspaper is reporting that the PS4 (Orbis) is rumored to cost 40,000 Yen (around $430 / £300) and arrive in Japan and North America this year alongside some additional rumors from Nikkei below.

To quote from GamingEverything.com (linked above): "The publication writes today that the PS4 will feature Gaikai cloud tech and will offer special social elements in which you can discuss things with friends while playing games.

Asahi, a well-known newspaper in Japan, is reporting that the next PlayStation will cost more than 40,000 yen. The publication also adds to previous speculation that the console will be made available this year in North America and Japan.

40,000 yen may not mean much to consumers overseas. Converting between currencies, that would be about $428 in USD and roughly 317 Euros.

Below is the scoop including purported PS4 launch dates, to quote: "Development sources with working knowledge of both next generation consoles have told us that PlayStation 4 will be more powerful than the next XBox, will ship with a redesigned controller and launch by the end of the year in Japan and the US.
