32w ago - Sony Associate Producer Michael Pulst confirmed alongside a video trailer today that Murasaki Baby for PlayStation Vita is coming to North America.

Below are the details, to quote: HI there everyone!

Last summer at Gamescom we debuted the new, exclusive PS Vita game Murasaki Baby, from new Italian indie development team Ovosonico, and announced that it was coming to European markets this year. Today, we're excited to share that it's officially coming to North America later this year too!

In the game, Baby wakes up in a dream world, envisioned by a child's fantastical imagination and populated by weird and wonderful characters.

In her hand is a purple heart-shaped balloon. She has lost her mommy, and it's the player's role to be her guardian. Take her hand, and guide her on a fantastic journey through the nightmarish land.

As you travel through the dream world, you will encounter many situations that will require lateral thinking to navigate. Using PS Vita's rear touch pad, you can switch the mood of the game from serene green fields to a scary hellish world. It's up to you to figure out how to use the tools at your disposal to keep Baby safe and navigate through the story.

32w ago - Sony Computer Entertainment America Associate Product Marketing Manager Derek Osgood announced today that Invizimals is coming to PS3 and PS Vita platforms in North America.

To quote: Hi PlayStation fans, we have some exciting news to share with you today! The popular creature hunting franchise, Invizimals, is returning to PlayStation this year in the Americas.

The franchise began as a series of innovative PSP titles in which players hunted down and battled elusive Invizimals using the PSP camera. Today, we're happy to confirm that Invizimals: The Alliance and Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom will be coming to PS Vita and PS3 (respectively) later this year.

Invizimals: The Alliance is the next step in the evolution from the PSP games to the PS Vita. Players will hunt, capture, and battle creatures in order to save the Invizimals from the evil Xtractor Industries robots which have invaded their world.

Invizimals: The Alliance brings next-gen AR gaming to your fingertips with new Markerless AR technology and a variety of capture mini-games using the PS Vita controls. You'll have hours of fun trying to track them all down and battling your friends in the all-new 4-player battle system.

Invizimals: The Lost Kingdom is the first foray onto PS3 for the Invizimals in...

Rumor: PS Vita Slim Set for Release in Europe and North America?

50°
35w ago - IGN reports that Sony has invited press to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation next Thursday, January 30th, where it is rumored that they will unveil a PS Vita Slim (or perhaps a PS Vita TV international release) for Europe and North American regions.

The invitation (below) reads, to quote: "You are invited to an exclusive breakfast briefing with PlayStation.

Following the biggest launch in PlayStation history, join us for an introduction to the slimmest.

When: Thursday 30th January 2014 | 09:00-11:00"

The PS Vita Slim is already available in Japan, and is 20 percent thinner than the existing model, as well as being 15 percent lighter.

It does away with the OLED screen for a 5-inch LCD display, which helps the battery to supposedly last up to an hour longer. The Japanese one is available in six different colors too, though we've yet to see if that's replicated in the west.

Of course the announcement could be about something else entirely, but the Vita Slim seems to be the sensible option, especially given the new appeal the handheld has thanks to the PS4's remote play functionality.

Having only just launched the PS4, it's exceedingly unlikely that Sony would announced a slim version of the console right now as they traditionally...

Sony Announces Minecraft Hits PS3 December 17th in North America

40w ago - Mojang's Owen HIll announced today via Sony's blog that Minecraft hits PS3 on December 17th, 2013 in North America.

To quote: Season's greetings! Owen from Mojang here. I have some exciting news that you might be interested in. It's about Minecraft - a game that's sold over 30 million copies to date. Minecraft is a game about breaking and placing blocks.

At first, you'll probably build simple structures to protect against nocturnal monsters. Later on, you might work with your friends to create wonderful, imaginative things.

It can also be about adventuring or watching the sun rise over a blocky ocean. It's pretty. Brave players battle terrible things in The Nether, which is more scary that pretty. You can also visit a land of mushrooms if it sounds more like your cup of tea.

Minecraft: PlayStation 3 Edition will be available to download from PSN on December 17th in North America.

Minecraft: PlayStation 4 Edition and Minecraft: PS Vita Edition are also being developed, but we don't have release dates yet. Expect them sometime next year.

I've received a few questions concerning the PS3 edition over the past few months, so let's clear them up before I get thrown off the blog...

Q: Does Minecraft: PS3 Edition feature everything from...

We have poured an incredible amount of power and innovation into PS4 to bring you the most immersive, jaw-dropping gaming and entertainment experiences imaginable. Now you get to see for yourself why PlayStation is the best place to play.

This past week we celebrated the launch of PS4 with bi-coastal events taking place in New York City and San Francisco. I can't imagine a better way to introduce a new platform into the growing world of PlayStation than being in two of the biggest cities in the U.S. and live streaming all of the action to you.

Since we introduced PlayStation 4 earlier this year, feedback from the gaming community has been phenomenal. With media reviews saying that the PS4 is "just shy of perfection" and that it is "an impressive package for gamers," it's clear that PS4′s horsepower, deep social capabilities, network features, and amazing gameplay have struck a chord.
