Video: Sony Unveils MLB 10 The Show PS3 AL East Predictions

100°
207w ago - Today Sony PR Manager Eric Levine has unveiled the last in their video series of divisional predictions for MLB 10 The Show on the PS3 entertainment system.

To quote: Last up on our divisional predictions series is the American League East.

Here's a stat for you, the AL East has sent a team to the World Series in nine out of the past 12 seasons, pretty ridiculous! It's no surprise that the Yanks are the obvious favorite.

With all of their A-listers back along with the additions of Curtis Granderson and Nick Johnson, the defending champs will once again be the team to beat.

The Red Sox have finished in second place 10 out of the last 12 seasons, but are hoping to change that in '10. With newcomers like Adrian Beltre added to their core group of All-Stars, they're looking for their third title in 7 years.

The Rays...

Video: MLB 10 The Show PS3 NL East Predictions Detailed

100°
207w ago - SCEA PR Manager Eric Levine has detailed their MLB 10 The Show PS3 NL East predictions today alongside a video, as follows:

Next up on our divisional predictions series is the National League East.

The Phillies might be the best team in the NL, if not all of baseball, and are the clear front runner.

The fact that they added an all-world pitcher in Roy Halladay to a World Series squad will make it tough for them not to grab their fourth straight divisional crown. The Marlins always seem to have a good core of young players and with guys like Dan Uggla and Hanley Ramirez, this year is no different so expect them to contend.

The Braves have the clear cut Rookie of the Year in Jason Heyward, but we'll see if this mix of young talent and their usual veterans...

PAX East 2010: The Naughty Dog LIVE PS3 Game Design Panel

250°
211w ago - Naughty Dog Community Strategist Arne Meyer has shared some pictures and details from PAX East 2010: The Naughty Dog LIVE PS3 game design panel today.

To quote: We've all returned - and mostly recuperated - from our trip to Boston this past weekend to attend PAX East.

It was both a pleasure and an honor to make it out for the inaugural PAX on the East Coast, not only to attend the show, but also to participate in panels.

Everyone at Penny Arcade deserves all our gratitude for putting together such a smooth first - and completely sold out PAX in Boston. We're looking forward to PAX East 2011!

We weren't expecting the massive turnout for our panel on Saturday, "Naughty Dog LIVE: Game Design with the Dogs." When I got to the Naga Theater to setup for our panel, the line waiting to get in was insane - and it was a whole half-hour before our panel was due to start. I heard some people had been waiting in line for over an hour at one point.

It was sad to hear that PAX Enforcers had to turn away a...

New cable cut compounds net woes

324w ago - A submarine cable in the Middle East has been snapped, adding to global net problems caused by breaks in two lines under the Mediterranean on Wednesday.

The Falcon cable, owned by a firm which operates another damaged cable, led to a "critical" telecom breakdown, according to one local official.

The cause of the latest break has not been confirmed but a repair ship has been deployed, said owner Flag Telecom.

The earlier break disrupted service in Egypt, the Middle East and India.

"The situation is critical for us in terms of congestion," Omar Sultan, chief executive of Dubai's ISP DU, told The Associated Press, following the most recent break.

Wednesday's incident caused disruption to 70% of the nationwide internet network in Egypt on Wednesday, while India suffered up to 60% disruption.

Flag Telecom said a repair ship was expected to arrive at the site of the first break - 8.3km from Alexandria in Egypt - on 5 February, with repair work expected to take a week.

A repair ship deployed to the second break - 56km from Dubai - was expected to arrive at the site in the "next few days", the firm said.

The first cable - the Fiber-Optic Link Around the Globe (FLAG) - was cut at 0800 on 30 January, the...
