BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma PS3 Special Edition, Features Detailed

50°
33w ago - Aksys Games Editor Mike Engler announced BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma PS3 Special Edition alongside detailing the features, as follows:

Greetings, and welcome to another missive from the mighty Aksys Citadel. As the North American launch of BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma draws ever closer, we thought it'd be good idea to talk a little bit about the game - especially all the new features and characters, not to mention the special edition and all of its various doodads. So without further ado, let's BlazBlue!

BlazBlue: Chrono Phantasma for PS3

First of all, there are a few system changes in Chrono Phantasma that set it apart from previous versions of the game. One of the most obvious additions is the Overdrive ability. By initiating Overdrive, you'll be able to amplify a character's overall skills and abilities for a set period of time.

When Overdrive is active, the stage will go dark, letting you know it's time to get down to business. When used to its fullest, the Overdrive system will allow a player to turn the tide of battle and snatch victory from the jaws of defeat!

Another big change is to the Network/Online portion of the game. The number of options available to the online warrior is, to be incredibly hyperbolic, mindboggling. In addition to the previous...

Video: Sony PlayStation 4 Interface, PS4 Overview & Features Demo

50°
50w ago - Today ElitePixelEnemyHD has made available a 16-minute video of Sony's PlayStation 4 interface, including a PS4 overview and its features demonstrated.

Check it out below, and to quote: "We have gotten a new video which details the PlayStation 4 UI and goes in detail of the interface.

This video comes courtesy of ElitePixelEnemyHD and is unfortunately kind of blurry but it really gives an extensive tour of the PlayStation 4 UI and its various menus.

The UI looks pretty simple and clean to me. More like an evolution of PS3 UI. They also show the browser and it seems to be a step above what was on PS3.

The original video is from GamekyoLive and is a 1 hour extensive walkthrough of PlayStation 4 and its games. It also has a cleaner sound as opposed to the above video."

Finally, below is another PlayStation 4 at Gamers Day'13 PS4 Overview from Izhan Shafiq via YouTube, as follows:

To quote: "This video showing actual PS4 in a running state. Also showing some PS4 interface and The Playroom at Gamers day'13 Riyadh.. Usually in e3...

Proteus is Coming to PS3 and PS Vita Soon, New Features Detailed

50°
51w ago - Creator Ed Key announced that Proteus is coming to PS3 and PS Vita soon, and has detailed some new features in the game below.

To quote: You drift towards a pastel island where everything sings as you pass. The sky begins to darken and something in the distance catches your eye...

I'm Ed Key, one of the developers of [Register or Login to view links] along with composer David Kanaga. Proteus came out for the PC and Mac in January 2013 and had a fantastic reception from Edge, Eurogamer, IGN and many more.

For something that started out as a weird experimental project between me and David, this was pretty mind-blowing, and it's even crazier to now have the chance to bring it to PS3 and PS Vita with some brand new features that take advantage of Sony's hardware.

Proteus is something like a constantly-remixing ambient album in the form of an immersive island world. It's all about a particular feeling of wandering through nature alone, taking it in and getting pleasantly lost.

Maybe it's a little bit about magic and mortality too. Don't expect tasks and scores and checklists - perhaps Proteus lurks somewhere on the shady fringes of what it means to be a game.

With the PS Vita and PS3 versions, we've been adding new ways to engage with...

Ibb & Obb on PSN Updated, Enhanced Features and Performance

100°
54w ago - Sparpweed Creative Director Richard Boeser announced today alongside a video that Ibb and Obb on PSN has been updated complete with enhanced features and performance.

To quote: It's been about a month since we launched Ibb & Obb, our two-player, cooperative puzzle platformer.

Since the launch, we've been working on a patch to fix some bugs that players found, but also to add some features based on the feedback we got.

The most requested feature was to have indicators showing where players are when they fly off screen. Those are now in, along with d-pad support for those of you who prefer that to the analog stick. Also, we managed to improve general performance quite a bit - now everything runs at 60 FPS in full HD, with anti aliasing on.

For us, some of the most interesting things of the last month are the Let's Play videos that pop up. Often made by players that dive into the game without having played it before or knowing much about it. From a game designer point of view these videos are extremely useful.

We've seen a lot of people play during development, but it's different when players know the game is still unfinished or when they can ask you questions directly. The Let's Play videos feel more real. They show the published product and are often recorded...
