New Sony PlayStation and PSN Game Releases for May 20, 2014

32w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new Sony PlayStation and PSN game releases for the upcoming week below.

To quote: A futuristic city besieged by a strange enemy in Transistor, and a timeline wrought with terror in Wolfenstein: The New Order; all this and more comes to PlayStation this week.

The hotly-anticipated action RPG Transistor arrives on PS4 this Tuesday, telling the melancholic story of Red - a singer without a voice wielding an enigmatic weapon. Face enemies known as The Process and work to uncover the mystery behind Red's fate, and what evils have been cast against the sprawling city of Cloudbank.

In the mood for an old-school FPS? The legendary series makes a triumphant return in the form of Wolfenstein: The New Order. As super soldier B.J. Blazkowicz, fight against a ruthless empire using different combat tactics and rewrite history itself.

Video: Sparkle 2 is Coming to PS4 and PS Vita on May 20th, 2014

33w ago - 10tons Ltd PR Coordinator Jaakko Maaniemi announced today alongside a video trailer that Sparkle 2 is coming to PS4 and PS Vita on May 20th, 2014.

To quote: Hello again! I'm back today to announce 10tons is about to bring another action puzzle game, Sparkle 2, to PS4 and PS Vita. Sparkle 2 will launch on both platforms on May 20th, with cross buy support and a free trial. It's priced at $7.99.

Sparkle 2 is a superbly polished match-three puzzle game set in a mysterious world of magic and wonder. The game features smooth gameplay, plenty of power-ups with big special effects, beautiful graphics, and a cinematic soundtrack.

We're particularly proud of how well the basic gameplay translated to gamepad controls. Marble shooters play great with mouse controls or a touch screen, and we had an idea it'd work with an analog stick, too. We just didn't expect it to be quite as good as Sparkle 2 turned out.

An even bigger unknown, and an even more pleasant surprise, was how fun the game is to play with the DualShock 4 touch pad. We're using it basically like a mouse, with an on-screen pointer and all, and it works really nicely. On PS Vita we of course use the touch screen, and it's just awesome.

33w ago - Sony Brand Marketing Manager of Emerging Platforms Jamaal Moore recapped the PlayStation Mobile content updates for April to May 2014 below today.

To quote: Hey PlayStation community. April flew by but we wanted to make sure you didn't miss some of the cool games that we released last month. Enjoy!

Boot Hill Heroes Part One by Experimental Gamer ($7.49)

David Welch of Experimental Gamer launched his first game on PlayStation Mobile in April, an old school RPG set in a western setting, and wanted to share some exciting details about his game with you:

Imagine those classic RPGs of the 90s (Final Fantasy, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger) but reinvented as a gritty, spaghetti western with vicious outlaws, brave lawmen and the untamed wilderness. It's a journey through cow towns, Native American villages, ranches, mines, prisons, and into the soul of the American Wild West.

But what makes Boot Hill Heroes more than just being a Dragon Quest game based in the Wild West, is its fast-paced, real-time/turn-based hybrid combat. You must stay on your toes, as victory is determined not only by what actions are chosen but when they are executed!
