Video: The Last Tinker: City of Colors Out Today on PlayStation 4

10w ago - LOOT Entertainment Product Manager Jason Sorensen announced that The Last Tinker: City of Colors is out today on PlayStation 4 alongside a PS4 video trailer below.

To quote: This is it. Right here, right now. This is your moment to help begin the renaissance of the indie-developed, 3D platformer.

The reaction to our announcement that The Last Tinker was coming to PlayStation was staggering. We knew it would be positive, but not to this degree! We had no idea there was this pent-up demand for more 3D platformers.

This isn't just a game. This is a statement. A confirmation of the belief that 3D platformers are not dead. A shining neon beacon, fifty stories tall, that there is more to a game than technical specifications.

PlayStation is a platform for the biggest and loudest games ever made. Absolutely. But it's also a platform which openly promotes creativity and imagination. People turn to the indie scene when they want something different; something innovative, stylish, and creative.

The Last Tinker: City of Colors is a PS4 game that is as wonderful and fun to play as those great PS2 and PS3 games of yesterday. At LOOT, we really do believe Tinker will be remembered as the spark which...

Video: Behind the Scenes of The Last Tinker: City of Colors on PS4

10w ago - LOOT Entertainment Product Manager Jason Sorensen went behind the scenes today in a video of The Last Tinker: City of Colors on PS4 below.

To quote: PlayStation's embrace of indies is one of the most important developments in the gaming industry today. There are vast seas of awesome, innovative games that get made but then are completely overlooked and undiscovered - and PlayStation has neatly solved this.

Thanks to PlayStation, you can actually develop a really cool and innovative game, knowing that if it's well-made, it can be featured on the best damn gaming platform around.

And here at LOOT, we believe that The Last Tinker is something special. Judging from the vast majority of the comments our announcement post received last week, it looks like you guys feel the same way. Which is AWESOME. Do you know how good it feels when you announce a game and people are like, "I can't wait to play this!"

It feels like you just won a wrestling match with a grizzly bear inside a nuclear submarine and there's Megan Fox and all of a sudden Morgan Freeman is narrating in the background. That's how awesome it feels. So thank you guys for that.

As a result of your feedback, we've reached out to the...

Video: The Last Tinker: City of Colors - Fight the Bleakness 8/19

11w ago - LOOT Entertainment Product Manager Jason Sorensen shared a video of The Last Tinker: City of Colors announcing PlayStation 4 fans can fight the Bleakness on August 19, 2014.

To quote: Why on Earth did we ever stop playing platformer games?

At LOOT, we like to buck trends, swim upstream, and wear our sunglasses at night. Which is why this game announcement does not introduce unshaven gravel-voiced anti-heroes, a vague plot involving paramilitary forces, a production budget roughly akin to the GDP of a small European nation, and a color scheme comprised of only blacks, whites, grays and reds.

Instead, we're introducing you to a whimsical, colorful platformer. Made by Germans.

This, of course, is unprecedented. Picture the phrase, "German platformer game" in your head. You saw something roughly akin to Wolfenstein mashed up with Rammstein, didn't you: slightly severe time trials, obscure rules, and somebody shouting at you.

Instead, you get Tinkerworld: lots of colors, friendly characters, and - whisper it - fun.

We play lots of games. You play lots of games. So when we played [Register or Login to view links]' [Register or Login to view links]

To quote: First up this week, The Last of Us Remastered, lovingly brought to PlayStation 4. Whether you missed it before or want to enjoy the decimated world once again with Joel and Ellie, TLOUR is sure to be one of your must own PS4 titles.

Included with this release are the single player Left Behind chapter, eight multiplayer maps and a bonus developer commentary.

Also available this week is acclaimed 2D roguelike Rogue Legacy. Explore a procedurally generated castle where dying simply puts you in control of an heir.

Oh, but said heir won't be a bog standard character, oh no! Rogue Legacy mixes it up giving your heirs random traits such as being colour blind or even dementia.
