217w ago - Although Hideo Kojima is best known for Metal Gear Solid, the famous game designer thought about leaving the series a couple of times.
He may finally get a chance to do something else after the completion of Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker and Metal Gear Solid: Rising.
Speaking through a translator, Hideo Kojima revealed what his future plans might be once the two aforementioned games are completed in a recent video interview with the European PlayStation.Blog:
To quote: "It will be kind of too late if I start thinking about after I've finished with Peace Walker and Rising. I'll probably have to plan before. But I always want to do my next original title and that's always on my mind. And, as I said before, I could kind of produce some other titles such as Zone of the Enders and I will like to plan that doing the producer side and also creating my original new title."
Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker will be released sometime in 2010 for the PSP while Metal Gear Solid: Rising has no release date for the Playstation 3 and Xbox 360."
227w ago - Today the Examiner (linked above) took notice of a statement in the latest Kojima Productions podcast by Sean Eyestone, which essentially brings new hope for PS3 Trophy support to fans of Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots for the PlayStation 3.
To quote: "Just to address one issue that we've been getting a lot of comments about. And this is, of course, about trophies.
I just wanna tell everybody out there right now that your voices are being heard and that we're not ignoring you. We hear everything that you are saying. It's just that we can't say anything just yet.
But as soon as we have something to say, we will announce it. So, if we can just ask everyone to just be patient, we will give you an answer. But right now we can't say anything. So we just ask for everyone's understanding with that and just ask for everybody to remain patient and we'll let you know."
236w ago - A Twitter feed seemingly being updated by Kojima Productions is broadcasting coded messages which, we're guessing, may be relevant to the contents of the Konami press conference today at 3pm PST / 11pm BST.
The tweets started a few hours ago and say things like this: "There is a shadow: lw olhv zlwklq xv doo." It's obviously some sort of code. It's also some sort of code that our lead developer has deciphered.
So, if you fancy trying to figure it out for yourselves, pop over to the Kojima Productions Twitter. Alternatively, here's the current run of messages translated, starting with the first:
• "There is a shadow: lw olhv zlwklq xv doo." = "it lies within us all."
• "It consumes us. ju efwpvst vt." = "It devours us."
• "We cannot escape it, exlm px wxlmkhr hnklxeoxl." = "lest we destroy ourselves."
• "This shadow makes us who we are. Cn cm qy qbi uly nby gihmnylm." = "It is we who are the monsters."
• "Join me: fasqftqd, Xqgoaftqm, iq omz fgdz ftue iadxp fa pmdwzqee." = "together, Leucothea, we can turn this world to darkness."
• "But I can't! Ymnx btwqi sjjix rj, fsi ny sjjix dtz ytt." = "This world needs me, and it needs you too."
• "Pda odwzks zeooelwpao..." = "The shadow dissipates..."
237w ago - Update: The cover of the upcoming Famitsu PSP/PS3 issue which promises to have huge blowout on the upcoming Metal Gear Solid game is below... no translation is available yet though.
As was previously mentioned in the recent issue of Famitsu, the countdown teaser Web site for Kojima Production's next project has changed once again.
Now, you will not only see a lot of new characters flash by but also the image of Raiden (assuming that's Raiden) as well as a strange mask which the Kojima Production's logo morphs into.
Not only that, but by clicking on the logo at the teaser site, you will be brought to YET ANOTHER teaser site for something called 'Mask'. What does this mean, two announcements for E3? Perhaps MGS5 and Mask?
