New Sony PlayStation Game Releases for January 21st, 2014

300°
27w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements is here with the new PlayStation Game Releases for the week of January 21st, 2014.

To quote: If there's one thing that video games have taught us through the years, it's this: don't fall on your face. Really, just let that one sink in for a bit.

Falling on your face hurts, it's embarrassing, and more often than not it interrupts your score combo. Fortunately, a new, retro skateboarding game named OlliOlli is here to train you on avoiding faceplants. It launches this week on PlayStation Vita.

OlliOlli combines the fun of pulling off tricks with the thrill of one-life gameplay. In order to keep your score going, you'll need to hit every single landing perfectly. No falling on your face.

OlliOlli features more than 120 tricks and grinds to master across 50 brutally challenging levels. Train up, and you could even take on the Daily Grind - a worldwide, one-time-only challenge to earn a highscore in a 24 hour period.

27w ago - Sony PlayStation Store Director Grace Chen is here with this weeks US PSN Game Store content updates below, as follows:

PS3 Games

Assassin's Creed III: Liberation HD ($19.99)

The year is 1765. While the seeds of the American Revolution are being sewn in Boston and New York, Spanish forces in the South plot to seize control of Louisiana for the Templars, threatening to forever shift the balance of power in the New World.

As Templars secretly take hold of the slave trade in New Orleans, Aveline de Grandpré, an assassin of mixed French & African heritage, stands ready to defend her people. She soon finds herself on an unforgettable journey that will take her from the crowded streets of New Orleans to voodoo-haunted swamps and ancient Mayan ruins.

Whether eliminating her enemies with new assassination skills or luring them into cunning traps, Aveline strikes mortal fear into the hearts of those who would stand against freedom.

The Raven: Legacy of A Master Thief ($29.99)

The Raven - Legacy of a Master Thief is the thrilling crime adventure from the creators of The Book of Unwritten Tales. Full of twists and turns, it immerses you in both sides of the story, combining thrill-of-the-chase whodunit with a heist story.

Guacamelee!...

New Sony PlayStation Releases Announced for January 14th, 2014

100°
28w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Ryan Clements announced the line-up of new PlayStation releases for the upcoming week today, as follows:

As Templar forces move to control the slave trade in 1760′s New Orleans, a courageous woman of French and African descent fights for freedom with a cunning set of skills. Aveline de Grandpre returns to the stage of history once again in Assassin's Creed Liberation HD, launching for PS3 this week.

Originally launched on PS Vita, Assassin's Creed Liberation HD presents Aveline's tale in a whole new light. It includes massive visual upgrades and a seemingly endless list of tweaks and optimizations. This chapter in the Assassin's Creed series features the same rich blend of stealth elements and combat.

By donning different disguises, Aveline can traverse the environment and use the reactions of other characters to her advantage, be it the gown of a noble lady or the iconic garb of the Assassin.

But Aveline isn't the only familiar face leaping onto a new PlayStation platform this week; Barry Steakfries lands on PS Vita in the fan-favorite Age of Zombies. Stride through time and fight hordes of undead in this charming and addictive adventure. May or may not include a zombie t-rex.

Video: OlliOlli for PlayStation Vita Drops in on January 21st, 2014

50°
28w ago - Roll7 Director Tom Hegarty posted up a video today announcing that OlliOlli for PlayStation Vita drops in on January 21st, 2014.

To quote: We've finally finished OlliOlli, and what's even better, we now have a release date: January 21st!

As you may know, this our first PS Vita game, so it's been a big challenge for us - a challenge that's been well worth it (and we hope you'll think so, too). We originally planned to launch before the holiday, but due to some technical issues we had to push back.

We want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who patiently supported us throughout 2013, including fans, press, and all the crew at PlayStation - especially Shahid and Spencer.

Now that we're on the path to releasing OlliOlli into the wild, it seems pertinent to give you the final details about all four modes and the game's Trophies (in case you didn't see them when they accidentally leaked last month)!

Career Mode: 50 deviously handcrafted levels split between Amateur and Pro. The further you progress, the more accuracy and timing you'll need to reach the adoring crowd at the end of each run.

Each level has five challenges, including Combo and Score attacks, and is linked to its own global leaderboard. Think you can get that number one spot?...
