26w ago - Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson announced today that those who buy Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus for PS3 will also get Quest for Booty.

Below are the details, to quote: Hey everyone. Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus has gone gold in North America, and is on track for its November 12th release date!

Ratchet and Clank's latest adventure is an Epilogue to the Future saga of games, has an all-new story, arsenal, and gadgets, and - best of all - it's only $29.99!

To sweeten the deal even more, we're including a voucher code good for a download of Ratchet & Clank Future: Quest For Booty, our first downloadable game from the Future saga. The voucher will be inside physical copies of Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus.

If you missed that adventure, you'll be able to check it out. For those of you who've played it a dozen times already, you can give the voucher to a friend who hasn't and introduce them to gaming's greatest intergalactic duo.

With Into the Nexus done, we're in the middle of working on a bunch of cool content that you'll see in the next few weeks leading to launch. Next up? A video showing off a good portion of Ratchet's arsenal, including some we haven't announced yet.

Until then, I wanted to give you this little tease, showing...

Video: A Deeper Dive Into Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on PS3

50°
27w ago - Sony Social Media and Community Manager Roberto Kusabbi posted up a new video today which gives fans a deeper dive into the world of Assassin's Creed IV Black Flag on PS3.

To quote: Hello! It's been awhile. How are we all? Today I wanted to share with you a short film we put together at an Assassins Creed IV: Black Flag event we had special access to last month, including some more information on exclusive PlayStation content for the game.

I was lucky enough to enjoy a good stint of gameplay on PS4, including multiplayer, and it didn't disappoint. With the added graphical detail on PS4, the single player story mode is totally immersive, offering a huge open pirate world for you to plunder.

What I found most impressive was how the story links into actual historical events, delving deep into real pirate culture and folklore. And the online play? So. Much. Fun.

Check out the video for a closer look, and stay tuned - we'll have a few more clips coming your way in the next few weeks too, including something slightly different!

Video: Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus Hits PS3 November 12th, 2013

28w ago - Insomniac Games Community Lead James Stevenson announced today alongside a video that Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus will be hitting PS3 on November 12th, 2013.

To quote: Everyone here at Insomniac has been working really hard to bring you Ratchet and Clank's latest adventure, Into the Nexus, and we're happy to announce that it will be available in stores and online on November 12th, 2013!

An epilogue to the Future games (Tools of Destruction, Quest For Booty, A Crack in Time), Ratchet & Clank: Into the Nexus is packed with an all-new story, an all-new arsenal, and all-new gadgets - and it's only $29.99.

Some of you have asked us why we made a shorter Ratchet game. The truth is, we relished this ability to tie a bow on the PS3 era of Ratchet with a shorter title. All of us love the Ratchet universe - and after 12 years developing the series, it feels like a very close friend.

We have a lot of stories to tell, some longer, some shorter. This one felt just right. It's a very polished self-contained return to the Ratchet adventures of yore. It's impactful, too; filled with planet-hopping, guns blazing, joke-cracking Ratchet & Clank, and events happen here that will change Ratchet forever. Think of it as a small epic.

Another question we get asked a lot is how...

Vogster Entertainment Announces Carnivores HD Tears Into PS3 Today

50°
31w ago - Vogster Entertainment LLC Project Lead Artem Kuryavchenko announced that Carnivores HD tears into PS3 today!

To quote: Carnivores HD is a realistic hunting simulator that brings you to an ancient environment and lets you hunt for the most dangerous creatures that have ever existed.

You'll be hunting Triceratops, Stegosaurus, Ankylosaurus, Ceratosaurus, and finally a T-Rex! There are also flying Pteranodons, and small and peaceful Gallimimuses.

Each level is an island about two square miles in size, and features a unique environment. There are deserts and jungles, volcanic islands, and deep forests. Each level comes in three flavors: daytime, evening, and misty.

Being a hunting simulator, the game renders wildlife realistically. Animals make use of natural senses - sight, hearing smell - that are unique to each creature.

Dinosaur behavior depends on the environment, weather, and injury state, so a wounded dinosaur will respond fearfully to your presence. Animals also interact with each other: herbivores avoid carnivores, small species avoid big ones. Dinosaurs also forage for food, water, take rests, and wander around the world.

Your arsenal consists of a rifle, sniper rifle and crossbow. You don't have to kill an animal, either, and you can equip...

Video: Puppeteer Interview: Delving Into Japan Studio's Platformer

50°
40w ago - Sony Blog Manager Fred Dutton shared a video interview today which delves deeper into Japan Studio's incredible platformer called Puppeteer below!

To quote: Shameless favoritism alert: PlayStation Blog ruddy loves Puppeteer. It's one of the liveliest, loveliest and most downright out-there platformers to come along in years, and plays beautifully to boot.

It arrives in stores on 11th September, and if it's not on your radar yet, it's time to stick a pin in it. This is a game unlike any other you'll see on shelves this year.

With just a few weeks left of development, we caught up with the game's director, the ever-insightful Gavin Moore, last week to delve a little deeper into his deviously dark creation.

When we spoke last year you explained that you were making Puppeteer so that you had something to play with your young son. What's his verdict now that he's been able to play it?

Gavin Moore: He loves it! He likes playing it either on his own or with his Dad, which is nice.

If I'm playing Kutaro and he's playing the secondary character - Picarina or YinYang - he tries to kill me all the time because he wants to be Kutaro. He thinks Kutaro is him,...
