88w ago - Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has made available some fresh video footage today of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One on the PS3 in co-op mode.
To quote: We're just a few days away from Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One releasing exclusively for PlayStation 3.
We hope you're looking forward to exploring Planet Magnus, upgrading your arsenal, and solving the mystery of the Creature Collector with your friends. With that in mind, we wanted to show you a sweet video we put together, highlighting the big co-op moments in the game.
It will take a team effort to steer a taxi through the vertical city streets of Luminopolis, or to coordinate the powerful turrets on the back of a massive robotic Guardian, and this video shows how players will have to work together.
Can't wait until next week to get a taste of Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One? You can check out an offline four-player co-op demo of the game right now, included on specially marked Blu-Ray and Combo Pack Blu-rays of the Sony Pictures film Zookeeper, starring Kevin James. That should definitely tide you over until the full game launches on October 18th!
Also, in case you haven't heard, Target will be releasing an exclusive...
93w ago - Today the Resistance 3 PS3 patch version 1.02 is available, and the developers at Insomniac Games have shared the update details, as follows:
Patch 1.02 for Resistance 3 is now available worldwide. We apologize for having two large patches this close to launch, but as you know, we've had a lot of issues to address from the Public Beta, and this has created the need for large patches. If you just want to play SP, you can ignore the patches (though there are some small fixes to the campaign) - but to go online, you will need to download them.
We wanted to detail some of the fixes in 1.02 for you. There are A LOT of fixes in this patch, some of which some players may not notice and are not worth detailing, but here are the big ones:
• Players should no longer get into "dead" games that don't operate correctly
• Improvement in framerate/lag
• Matchmaking fixes
• Fewer players floating / clipping through environment
• Fix for freezing/crashing issues if you join a game as it is ending
• Can no longer leave party while in a co-op game (was causing a crash)
• Party fixes dealing with multiple invites, co-op
• Some SFX in St. Louis have been cleaned up
• Broadway map now loads games correctly
• Fixed issues when...
94w ago - Insomniac Games Senior Community Manager James Stevenson has shared some video footage today for fans of when Resistance 3 for PS3 met Sony spokesman Kevin Butler.
To quote: As we lead up to Resistance 3's launch this Tuesday, we wanted to start your holiday weekend right with the two television commercials you will be seeing for Resistance 3 over the next few weeks.
These commercials will be airing during NFL games and my personal favorite, college football, as well as series premieres of some of the biggest shows on TV.
Why two commercials, you ask? Well, we have two great approaches for Resistance 3. One involves the story of Joseph Capelli's journey. In some ways this ties us back to the very first live-action prologue trailer that showed us the first glimpse of Resistance 3's grim new world.
Here you get a glimpse of the emotions and story that make up our game. We really feel like this ad wonderfully captures and encapsulates Resistance 3. Take a look:
Hope you liked that commercial and it got you pumped for the game's launch. That said, what's a huge PS3 exclusive without a Kevin Butler commercial? Maybe it's best if you just watch.
95w ago - Insomniac Games Community Intern Brandon Winfrey has posted up a video today from Gamescom 2011 spotlighting both Resistance 3 and Ratchet & Clank for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: I went to Germany once. I visited a castle, ate schnitzel - all things you should do as a guest of that fine country.
However, the most fun I had was when my exchange family set up a massive LAN party and we played games for 12 hours straight! It was then and there I realized that Germany is ground zero for videogames.
So for this year's Gamescom conference, the Insomniac crew hopped across the pond to show off our anticipated fall titles, including Resistance 3. By now, you've probably seen the beautiful new Olly Moss-inspired trailer, right? If you haven't, I'm giving you permission to stop reading this blog for a second to watch it.
The gaming media also experience a new section of Resistance 3 behind closed doors, so expect new previews to start rolling in soon. Fans on the show floor were able to play a single-player demo of the game so they can get a feel for the riveting atmospheric action Resistance 3 has in store.
Meanwhile, Ratchet & Clank: All 4 One showed up with its guns blazing in a new trailer showcasing...
