15w ago - Sony PlayStation Community Manager shared details today on the photography in Tearaway on PS Vita inviting fans to let your creativity loose.
To quote: Tearaway is about going on an adventure. It's a very personal journey between two people: you, and your new messenger friend.
If you're going on an adventure, you're likely going to see lots of amazing things, and you'll probably want to tell people about them. That's why we gave Iota and Atoi their own cameras!
As soon as we put the camera into Tearaway, the whole studio started documenting and sharing their journeys through the vibrant, papery landscapes, and in addition to providing us with mementos, it was clear that it could be a great avenue for creativity, too. If you know anything about us, you'll know that's something we can't help but include in our games.
You'll be awarded the camera early in your adventure. It comes with a kit lens, with a nice depth of field, and you can get snapping straight away. To unlock new lenses and special filters, you'll need to collect confetti; little colourful bits of paper you'll see throughout the world. You can spend this confetti on numerous things, including camera items.
There are five additional lenses to collect, each brings something different...
16w ago - Devolver Digital Chief Financial Officer Fork Parker confirmed today alongside a video that Hotline Miami 2 is coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita.
Below are the details, to quote: Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number is headed to PS4 and PS Vita, but hopefully you've gathered that from the headline already.
Almost as fast as Dennaton Games and Devolver Digital could announce Hotline Miami 2: Wrong Number, we started getting questions on whether it would be coming to PlayStation platforms.
And again, if it hasn't sunk in yet, the answer is "yes." Please pay attention. So let's move on a bit and talk more about why we're bringing the neon brutality and blazing beats of the next Hotline Miami to PlayStation.
The original Hotline Miami launched on PS3 and Vita earlier this summer, and the PlayStation community has been incredibly supportive of the game that Dennaton Games originally created and Abstraction Games rebuilt for the platform.
Heck, "supportive" doesn't do it justice - the fans have gone crazy about Hotline Miami, and it hasn't gone unnoticed. Even when there was a little hiccup and some Trophies weren't...
16w ago - Sony Senior Business Development Manager Shahid Ahmad has unveiled an avalanche of Indie titles for PS4, PS3 and PS Vita at Gamescom 2013 today including N++, Volume and Hotline Miami 2 with details below.
To quote: Allow me to introduce myself. I'm Shahid Ahmad at PlayStation Europe. Strategic Content is the name of the game.
It's a fancy corporate-sounding term, but it's also a bit "black-ops" sounding, so that's cool. Our focus has been working with the indie dev community over the last year and a half, but it's not all we do. We also work with larger publishers. In this post, we'll be focusing on the indie story.
At gamescom, we've just underlined our commitment to bringing PlayStation fans the creative work of the some of the best indie talent in the world. Many of the games we've announced from our indie development partners will be making their console debut on PS4 and PS Vita. We've also got titles continuing to come to PS3.
Remember, at PlayStation, we allow the smallest indies to self-publish on the PS Store alongside the biggest publishers, we're democratic like that. We're also working hard to make things better for our partners, large or small, all the time.
Let's take a closer look at some of the titles we announced.
20w ago - Today Sony has released some new PS4 (GUI) screenshots of the PlayStation 4's user interface, which include user profiles, the new PlayStation Store, inbox messaging and video sharing.
Below are the details from DigitalSpy.com (linked above), to quote: "The FCC's consumer arm revealed several technical details about the system during its extensive testing, confirming a maximum clock efficiency of 2.75GHz.
The images were issued to coincide with the announcement that the console has passed FCC certification in the US.
It was also revealed that the PS4 will weigh in at 2.8kg - making it considerably lighter than the original PS3 at 5kg, but heavier than the latest 2.1kg slimline models.
Sony's new console will run at a cooler temperature than its predecessor, making it less likely to overheat. The hardware's ideal operating temperature is between 5 and 35 degrees Celsius, compared to the PS3's average of between 45 and 55.
The PS4 will launch this holiday for $399 in North America and £349 in the UK. The console will launch alongside titles including Killzone: Shadow Fall, Drive Club and Knack."
