187w ago - Capcom's European Brand Manager Richard Earl has unveiled a PS3 exclusive coming to Lost Planet 2 today- Helghast Troops!
To quote: Hot on the heels of the Monster Hunter skin announcement earlier in the week we now have more very special guests making their presence felt on the PS3 version of Lost Planet 2...
E.D.N.III is a harsh place, a planet where you must fight against vicious akrid and the hostile elements. It takes a particularly double hard bastard to take on these odds and they don't come much tougher than the Helghast Assault and Helghast Scout troops.
The most feared units from Killzone now get to take on Lost Planet 2's pirate factions and the deadly giant Akrid. These skins will be available to download for free on PSN from the end of June.
I also wanted to say thanks to all of you who posted comments on my last post. In answer to the question from LAClennell, yes, Frank West is also available in the PS3 version of the game!
187w ago - Today Producer Chris Hinojosa-Miranda has announced that Helghast are invading Sony's PSP in the title Hot Shots: Get a Grip.
To quote: Hot Shots Tennis: Get a Grip is ready to serve a court-full of fun for PSP systems, and will be shipping to retail stores on Tuesday, June 29, 2010! And it will also be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store on the same day!
There will be plenty of posts coming down the web with further details, but let me share this golden nugget of information: this is an all-new Hot Shots Tennis cast in an all-new tennis adventure of the likes that you've never seen before (ever-ever times infinity).
First off, there is the new Story Mode, where you will travel the world spreading tennis love to everyone and anyone you meet. Part of the gameplay will require a certain level of exploration – its like Indiana Jones with a racquet, but with less ophidiophobia and more giant reptile costumes. Yeah, it's something like that.
Of course there will be items to unlock, this is the heart and soul of Hot Shots, so prepare your senses to manage the cornucopia of costume items, courts, and characters that will be coming your way (more on that later!). Just remember, every challenge will grant you new items to customize your character, and there are...
251w ago - VP of Product Marketing Scott Steinberg has announced that Killzone 2 ads are making their way to both TV and PSN later today as follows:
I am confident this game will inspire many of you who've been waiting for the right time to buy a PS3. It is a true testament to what "Only on PlayStation" means.
We're excited the promise of Killzone 2 has been realized and has exceeded expectations due to the tireless efforts and dedication of Guerrilla Games. I can't thank the development team enough for remaining true to the vision and producing one of the most impressive games in recent memory - on any platform. The pre-order numbers only reinforce your great enthusiasm for the game and we're pleased the game reviews show the same.
A group of us flew out to meet with the development team in late 2008 for a product meeting - we had an idea for a fresh way to promote the game. It was to bring the incredible detail in Killzone 2 to life by showcasing the game's technology - only made possible by the power of the PS3.
The idea for the commercial centered on telling the story of war on Helghan - up close and very personal and to use the game's engine to show it. No voodoo,...
251w ago - PlayStation Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein shared the following "intel" via PS Blog today:
In the upcoming (just 12 days away!) Killzone 2, the ISA forces lead an assault of the planet Helghan. But that doesn't mean the Helghast are on the defensive. In fact, my intel tells me that the Helghast forces are en route to PlayStation Home today.
Fortunately, the Helghast won't be armed with STA-52 Light Assault Rifles (per se), but with demo codes for Killzone 2.
So if you don't already have access (by pre-ordering), just jump into Home tonight starting at about 6pm Pacific (9pm Eastern) and keep an eye out for the Helghast soldiers. When you find one, work up the courage and... just ask. If they've got any left, they'll direct message you with the demo key.
Then you can punch that code into the PlayStation Store (upper right corner), download the demo, and repay the Helghan emissary by... invading their planet. Oh well.
