To quote: Hello PlayStation fans! As I mentioned on the 19th, at 8 AM PDT (11 AM EDT) today we'll be streaming live from Santa Monica Studios, where our team is busy building the next evolution in the franchise.
I will be talking with Mr. PlayStation Blog himself, Jeff Rubenstein, about God of War: Ascension and my past experience with the franchise.
And of course I will be answering some of the questions from fans on Twitter.
As promised, if we read your question live on air, we'll be reaching out to you (via @PlayStation) so we can send you a signed God of War: Ascension poster.
85w ago - Today it appears Amazon.com jumped the gun with Sony's suspected God of War: Ascension reveal by publishing the game's product page a day early alongside the PS3 box art and a teaser trailer video below!
To quote from GameInformer.com (linked above): "God of War: Ascension for PlayStation 3 seems to be a prequel to the original trilogy, before Kratos became the Ghost of Sparta.
Not much else is known about the story, however. The listing notes, "Join Kratos as he seeks freedom, redemption, and the clarity to avenge his family in the most ambitious God of War adventure in the series so far."
The product page, which is active at the time of this publishing, also contains a short CG teaser trailer. The listing indicates the game is out sometime in 2013, but no official release date has been revealed."
Shipping: Currently, item can be shipped only within the U.S. and to APO/FPO addresses. For APO/FPO shipments, please check with the manufacturer regarding warranty and support issues.
130w ago - Today Marc Turndorf of Ready At Dawn Studios has shared a video spotlighting the God of War: Origins Collection PS3 3D Trailer.
To quote: We are extremely pleased to bring our two God of War titles - God of War: Chains of Olympus and God of War: Ghost of Sparta - to PS3 with the God of War: Origins Collection!
The move to HD has allowed us to show off the visual fidelity that these games offer in a whole new way. Both titles went through an in-depth re-mastering process to make them shine like never before. One of the features we're truly excited about is the addition of stereoscopic 3D.
Both games look truly awesome with this functionality and the amount of depth in the scenes, the layering and parallax of the backdrops, and the dynamic camera motion throughout really pays off when experienced in all of its 3D splendor. To give you a taste of what this compilation is offering, here's a look at our first trailer...
This collection will also support DualShock controllers so every impact and every bone-crushing moment can now be felt in your hands. This is a huge deal to me personally because a God of War game contains so much over-the-top, heavy hitting action...
161w ago - Today Production Coordinator William Weissbaum has revealed alongside a video the God of War Collection: Lost Atlantis level for PS3, as follows:
With the recent release of God of War: Ghost of Sparta, players now have the opportunity to explore Atlantis on the PSP.
But this isn't the first time Atlantis was going to be featured in a God of War game. Back in 2005, Senior Level Designer Jonathan Hawkins was given his first assignment on God of War II - create an epic experience set in the fabled lost city of Atlantis.
Unfortunately, after months of work, Jonathan's designs had to be cut from the game due to some high-level changes. Afterwards, he went on to create some of the more memorable moments and puzzles in God of War II, such as the heart pounding Grapple Bridge sequence.
In honor of God of War Collection being release in HD on the PSN, we have delved into the Santa Monica Studio archives and found the never-before-seen layouts and sketches of this lost level.
In the video above, Jonathan walks us through his designs and the heartbreak...
161w ago - PlayStation Network Executive Producer Kevin Furuichi has shared a video preview today of Qore Episode 30, which showcases Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood, Tron: Evolution, God of War: Ghost of Sparta and a visit with My Chemical Romance.
To quote: With the holiday calendar flying by faster than Ezio Auditore free running across rooftops in Firenze, November's Episode 30 focuses on the fantastic fun you don't want to miss this holiday season.
Of course, first up, Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood is this episode's lead story and in our preview Veronica Belmont spends some hands-on time with the game and talks to Ubisoft Missions Director, Gaelic Simard about this vastly expanded environment including vistas of Renaissance Rome in High Def along with the very cool game mode allowing players to recruit and deploy a posse of up and coming assassins.
With Kratos coming back to your PSP system in the new God of War: Ghost of Sparta tomorrow, Veronica sharpens her Blades of Athena to slice and dice her way through another larger-than-life God of War adventure.
Game Director Dana Jan explains the development team's approach to maintaining the grand scale and epic gameplay of a God of War...
