42w ago - Following up on their first promotional video teaser, today Sony Social Media Manager Sid Shuman speaks to fans on PlayStation Evolution: The Beginning in a new video below.
To quote: PlayStation's arrival to the world of gaming signaled a change in the status quo and a sign of things to come. The original PlayStation system emerged in 1994 in Japan as a dark horse challenger, a seemingly outgunned newcomer entering a crowded field dominated by legends of the 16-bit era.
PlayStation's advanced technology and innovative controller design won raves with critics and gamers, and in 1995, the system expanded to North America, Europe, and Australia.
Accompanied by a powerful salvo of titles including WipEout, Crash Bandicoot, and Gran Turismo, PlayStation's rapid rise marked the end of one era of videogames and the dawn of another. The world was never the same.

60w ago - Beatshapers Founder and CEO Alexey Menshikov has announced that beginning today BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is exclusively breaking and questing on PlayStation Minis for fans.
To quote: It's Alexey Menshikov from Beatshapers and I'm pleased to reveal our next game - BreakQuest: Extra Evolution is coming to North American PlayStation Stores today as a PlayStation Minis exclusive (PlayStation 3, PlayStation Vita, and PlayStation Portable), priced at $3.99.
This game has a long story: the original game was released back in 2004 on PC by Spain-based Felix Casablancas and Nurium Games, and was the best breakout-style game at its time featuring something very unique for the genre - fully interactive physics.
We were one of the biggest fans of the game and when Sony approached with introduction of PlayStation Minis; we decided to bring this game to minis in 2010, which was quite successful.
A year after the PSP minis release, we thought about its sequel with the twist - at that time we had a feedback from the PSP version players, so we decided to improve the gameplay and design: we took best game and design elements of original game and rebuild it from scratch, incorporating our vision and our inspiration from the original BreakQuest.
79w ago - Sony's Latin America Blog Manager Lorenzo Grajales has officially unveiled a first look at Pro Evolution Soccer 2013 for the PS3 entertainment system today with details included in an interview below!
To quote: A few weeks ago, we traveled to Sao Paulo, Brazil to meet with our fellow PlayStation bloggers in Brazil and to attend the debut of Pro Evolution Soccer 2013.
This was the first time we had an opportunity to play the game, and some members of the development team were there to answer our questions. A few games later, here's what we learned:
This year, the PES team has lots of new people onboard who are sure to inject new life into this soccer simulation game, which already has millions of fans around the world.
In addition to all-new AI that I noticed after just a few games, PES 13 has implemented many new features in direct response to fan feedback, including better control that gives you more freedom, such as manual passing and full manual shooting, giving you more control over your actions.
It is a bit difficult to use at first, but highly rewarding once you master it. In the short time I used this feature, I obviously couldn't master it, and so I had to resort to traditional shooting.....
88w ago - Sony Senior Social Media Specialist Sid Shuman has shared an Assassin's Creed III Q&A today covering both the revolution and evolution of the upcoming video game for the PlayStation 3 entertainment system.
To quote: Ubisoft raised more than a few eyebrows when it revealed its bold plans for Assassin's Creed III earlier this month.
In a sharp break from the Renaissance theme that has dominated the last three games, ACIII will shift its focus to the desperate, bloody days of the American Revolution in a story that spans 30 years.
The change is scenery is matched by a change in character, with protagonist Connor Kenway taking center stage as an assassin caught between the escalating atrocities of the Patriots and the Redcoats. It's a juicy premise positively bursting with potential.
With Assassin's Creed III set to land on PS3 this October 30th, we sat down with Creative Director Alex Hutchinson to discuss the game's ambitious premise and many, many gameplay enhancements.
108w ago - MonkeyPaw Games Marketing Manager Ray Almeda has announced today that BurgerTime World Tour will be serving up retro evolution on PSN tomorrow.
To quote: It's been 29 years since BurgerTime hit arcades, but there's still there's a legion of fans waiting for a modern revival of one of the tastiest puzzle games ever.
BurgerTime World Tour isn't just BurgerTime with HD graphics; it's a maturation of the arcade classic with evolved elements and platform features that make for a whole new game. BurgerTime World Tour has been re-built from the ground up on a rotating cylindrical 3D world upon which you build your burgers from top to bottom.
Follow famed burger chef Peter Pepper as he traverses four different culinary countries (New York, Paris, Mexico, and Tokyo) and creates giant burgers while dodging zany condiments and frenetic foods like Frank Furter, the splenetic sausage or Sonny, the indelible edible egg.
Peter Pepper will have his way with these ingredients as he drops burger pieces onto them to include them in the burger (bonus points and custom burgers!), flips them off the screen with a tornado spatula attack, or engulfs them with flames...
