175w ago - Today Electronic Arts via developer Bright Light has announced Create for PS3 complete with PlayStation Move support, and also coming to the PC, Wii, Xbox 360 and Mac this November, 2010.
Similar in concept to the popular LittleBigPlanet, Create allows players to use their creativity to solve problems and build their own levels.
To quote: "Create uses families' imaginations to develop new ways to play together that are both fun and challenging, said Harvey Elliott, VP and General Manager at EA Bright Light. "We wanted to design a game where the entire family can explore, decorate, and solve challenges where no solution is wrong and the only limit is the imagination.
PlayStation 3 owners will be able to use the PS Move to use the tools in Create to build and play their own levels while Wii owners will obviously be able to use the Wii-mote. There does not appear to be any support for Kinect for the Xbox 360, however.
The more players explore the game, solve level-based challenges, and customize their world, the more rewards will be unlocked. Creativity will be unleashed as players design environments with easy-to-use brushes and tools, including textures, props and animating objects that bring the scene to life.
177w ago - Sony's Social Media Manager Jeff Rubenstein has shared a fresh video courtesy of EA, which details Medal of Honor for Sony's PS3 entertainment system.
To quote: We're fresh off a visit to EA's Redwood Shores campus, where the teams behind Medal of Honor, Dead Space 2, and Shank showed us the latest post-E3 builds of their games, and then took time to answer the questions you posed to us earlier in the week. First up: Medal of Honor.
On the new content front, the impressively-bearded Greg Goodrich (you may remember him from our E3 interview) demonstrated a mission from the single player mode. As a sniper perched high above an enemy encampment in the Afghan mountains, he picked off a number of enemies, eventually drawing attention to his location.
As the enemies let loose with mortar fire, the player switched over to reverse infrared imaging to spot the artillery operators and counter-snipers hiding in the brush and to put high-caliber rounds in their skulls from over a kilometer away.
The audio was a standout here; the crackle of your CO's orders over the radio and your spotter's instructions seemed as true to life as most of us will ever get...
219w ago - Today EA's Lead Designer Tom French has shared a sneak peek along with some insight into their upcoming PS3 title The Saboteur.
According to their developer diary, the game is a big story-driven open-world action-sandbox game that pits a daredevil race-car-driver-turned-saboteur vs. Nazi occupied France.
To quote: "WWII, really, do I need another WWII game?" We said the same thing to ourselves when the idea was first pitched to the team.
Let me tell you now, straight up, The Saboteur is not your typical WWII game.
In The Saboteur rather than playing what might as well be a nameless-faceless soldier in the war you play as Sean Devlin; a rough around the edges Irish race-car-driver who becomes a saboteur. While I know this idea might sound a bit unbelievable at first; let me tell you now that Sean is actually inspired by a real life person - William Grover-Williams.
He was British/French grand prix champion who drove for the legendary Bugatti racing team back in the 30's. Because of his daredevil nature and his ability to blend into the French culture he made prime candidate to be recruited by the Special Operations Executive (SOE).
He then became a saboteur working with the Resistance there. This idea of a larger-than-life hero that wasn't...
