50°
16w ago - Sony Vice President, Developer and Publisher Relations guru Adam Boyes shared a roundup summary today of 12 new Indies coming to PlayStation 4 and PS Vita complete with videos below!

To quote: Hello PlayStation fans! We held an awesome event at our offices yesterday, and in case you missed some of our new game announcements I wanted to round them up for you below. Also note that all of these titles will be making their console debut on PlayStation platforms.

Independent developers are continuing to create incredible games for PS4, PS3, and PS Vita, and we can't wait to bring them to you throughout this year and beyond.

Apotheon (PS4)

"Looking back, making our upcoming action sidescroller Apotheon in the visage of ancient Greek pottery seemed like an obvious choice. Everything is already there.

The 2D perspective, the awesome narrative and setting possibilities, heroes fighting monsters and magical goat-men with no pants... All we really had to do was figure out how to make the art on those pots move around and make it into an interesting game."

Axiom Verge (PS4/PS Vita)

Videos: SHAREfactory: Sony Demos PlayStation 4's New Video Editor

50°
16w ago - Sony Social Media Specialist Justin Massongill shared some PS4 video footage today demonstrating the PlayStation 4's new video editor below!

To quote: SHAREfactory is now available on PlayStation 4, alongside PS4 System Software Update v1.70.

A dead-simple rich video editor, SHAREfactory lets players capture gameplay clips (a process that's been streamlined as part of the v1.70 update) and add transitions, music, commentary, and more to turn their raw footage into full-fledged videos.

The PlayStation.Blog team - with painfully little knowledge of video editing - ventured blindly into this new app to see what we could come up with... and we think the results are pretty admirable given our lack of expertise! As it turns out, SHAREfactory is deceptively full featured, despite its instant accessibility.

Watch our videos below, then tell us whose is best. The editor who gets the most votes will forever bear the title of SCEA SHAREfactory Champion, and all privileges associated with it (I'm getting a belt made). Of course, we want to hear your arguments for each of our entries in the comments, as well.

First, I put together a tips guide for inFAMOUS...

Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer PS4 Demo is Coming This Weekend

50°
16w ago - Infinity Ward Senior Community Manager Tina Palacios announced that a Call of Duty: Ghosts Multiplayer PS4 and PS3 demo is coming this weekend!

Below are the details, to quote: Grab your friends and ready your trigger fingers - the Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer demo is coming this weekend.

From May 2nd (10:00 AM Pacific) until Monday, May 5th (10:00 AM Pacific), gamers on both PS3 and PS4 will be able to download the demo and try out Call of Duty: Ghosts multiplayer for free.

Three popular multiplayer maps are included:

• Strikezone: Set in a baseball stadium in war-torn San Diego, this small map is ideal for close-quarters combat. Complete a field order for an opportunity to call in a KEM strike, which will transform the landscape of the entire map.

• Warhawk: Taking place in a small American town, this three-lane map caters to many different play styles. The main street can be a convenient rush route, but beware of enemy snipers in the buildings on both ends.

• Prison Break: Fight in the jungles on this map located outside of a prison. A large hill dominates the central portion of Prison Break, a crucial area for your team to hold in the fight for victory.

As part of this demo, you can try three fan-favorite multiplayer modes: Team...

Video: NIS America: Demon Gaze is Out Today on PlayStation Vita

50°
17w ago - NIS America Marketing Coordinator David Alonzo posted up a video today announcing that Demon Gaze is out today on PlayStation Vita.

To quote: Greetings, doods! It's your humble Prinny David, and I'm excited to let you know that the dungeon-crawling RPG Demon Gaze is out today in North America exclusively for PS Vita!

For the first month of the game's release, we'll also be offering free Disgaea DLC that will allow you to download character portraits of Etna, Flonne, Sicily, Asagi, and Prinny as party members.

What sort of dungeon-crawling madness can you expect from the game? Let's get right into it!

You'll play as an unnamed hero who awakes in the strange land of Misrid with no recollection of your past. You soon find out that you're no ordinary amnesiac, however, and that you're actually a Demon Gazer - someone born with the ability to control demons.

This is quite handy, because Misrid is riddled with demons who control different parts of the world. Now it's up to you to control all these demons and discover who you truly are in the process.

You're not alone in this quest, however. When you're not crawling through dungeons, you'll be spending a...

Video: PS4 Keyboard and Mouse Support for PlayStation 4 Games Demo

100°
19w ago - Below is a demonstration video of unofficial PS4 Keyboard and Mouse support for PlayStation 4 games courtesy of electrical engineer and DIY hobbyist Frank Zhao (aka frank26080115) via Eleccelerator (linked above).

To quote: Keyboard and Mouse for PlayStation 4 Games (second prototype)

Why did you do this?

I like playing shooter games on PC but my laptop is too weak to play them. Game consoles do not support USB keyboards and USB mouse, they only support gamepads. Gamepad controls are not suitable for shooter games, using a keyboard and mouse is much more comfortable for gameplay.

How does it work?

I designed a circuit that features a microcontroller and USB hub. The keyboard and mouse plugs into the USB hub, and then the microcontroller takes the data from the keyboard and mouse, translates them to the data format used by the PlayStation 4. It does the translation in a way as though the mouse was the right thumbstick, and the keys are mapped to buttons (the WASD keys are mapped to the left thumbstick).
