226w ago - SCEA Marketing Manager Mark Valledor announced the following LittleBigPlanet DLC update today as follows:
We know you guys have been looking forward to the next batch of downloadable content which was due to launch this Thursday, January 22.
Unfortunately, we're not going to be able to release what we had planned at this time, so the wait is going to be just a little longer before the new year's content updates start to arrive.
In order to make up for this disappointment, we thought you might like to see all the new content we've got lined up to come out between next week and the end of February, so hold on to your hats as there's quite a bit!
Seasonal Content To get the new year started in the right way we've got matching Sackboy and Sackgirl Chinese New Year outfits which will be available for free next week to help you celebrate the year of the Ox. At the same time you can also dress up as the world famous Groundhog in a bid to predict the length of winter.
When February rolls around you'll have no excuse for forgetting to buy a card as we release a special Valentine's Day pack containing 12 stickers and some themed costume pieces for your Sackperson. Each of these downloads will be available for a limited time, so grab them...
227w ago - There is word trickling out of a business meeting today by Square Enix, that Final Fantasy XIII will not be hitting our shores till mid 2010.
This is definitely unacceptable coming from a company known for its stellar RPG franchise. Square Enix is to blame for this mishap, but the blame also falls squarely on Microsoft.
Square Enix has mentioned in the past that the PS3 version was practically finished and going through the final touch-ups for release in Japan this year. So, why is it that the US and Europe will be getting the game one year later? Square Enix execs have made it crystal clear that the game will not hit our shores until the porting/development has finished for the Xbox 360.
In a recent meeting, Square Enix revealed that the earliest US and Europe would see Final Fantasy XIII would be in April of 2010. Originally, the execs at Square Enix hinted that the game would arrive in 2009 for the US territory. However, this all changed after last E3, where the studio heads revealed that a deal has been struck just before the conference with Microsoft, for a simultaneous release on the PS3 and Xbox 360.
When I first heard that there was going to be a delay due to the decision to port over Final Fantasy XIII to the Xbox 360, I was okay with getting a late 2009 release in...
238w ago - We know some of you put off playing Grand Theft Auto IV when it launched earlier this year on "video game consoles" - instead, preferring to wait for the inevitable PC port.
After all, if there was any chance of some hidden hot coffee action, the PC would be platform of discovery. So you waited. And waited. And finally word came through the tubes that GTA IV would see a PC release on November 18th of this year.
Now, if listings on popular online video game retailers like Amazon and GameStop are any indication, we're hoping you circled that date on your Friends of GTA charity calendar in pencil because you may be in for a two-week delay.
We put a request out to Rockstar early this morning and have yet to hear back, leading us to believe this delay is the real deal.
239w ago - Media Molecule has posted that they are "shellshocked and gutted" about the Little Big Planet delay. However, they have also indicated a patch is completed and Sony will announce firm details on a release date for each region soon.
To quote: As some of you may have noticed, LBP has been slightly delayed in some territories. At MM we were as shocked and dismayed by this as anyone - shellshocked and gutted. We can't wait for you all to get playing and creating!
Thanks for all of your comments and support! It's been a tough time for gamers, LBP fans, and MM alike! but it seems that there's only about 1 week to wait - so thankyou for your patience. It'll be worth it!
We were waiting to hear from Sony on the new release dates and so we held off on an update until now. They've pulled out all the stops to keep the delay down, so now we can let you all know the details.
In the US LittleBigPlanet will begin shipping the week of October 27th and so depending how close your nearest shop is to the trucks you may have your hands on a copy that very day. We would love to hear where/who manages to get it first! Leave a comment!
In the UK, Europe, Middle East, Australia and New Zealand LittleBigPlanet should start to appear in stores no later than the week commencing Monday...
Shortly following, another Community Leader stated: "I really dont know when this one will arrive - what you read is exactly everything I know about the issue. I know you're all disappointed. But I'm afraid there is nothing I can do to make this content appear faster!!!"
Hopefully SCE will sort out the issues soon enough!
